**Earth Hour CY 2026 Celebration**

**CENRO Loreto**

The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Loreto actively participated in the global environmental movement, Earth Hour 2026, held on **March 28, 2026**, from **8:30 PM to 9:30 PM**.

This annual activity, initiated by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), aims to raise awareness on climate change, biodiversity conservation, and the importance of sustainable practices by encouraging individuals and institutions to switch off non-essential lights for one hour.

For CY 2026, the campaign highlights themes such as **“Give an Hour for Earth”** and promoting sustainable habits, emphasizing collective responsibility in protecting the environment.

**Activities Conducted:**

* Switching off all non-essential lights and electrical equipment within the CENRO office premises during the designated hour
* Encouraging personnel to practice energy conservation and environmental responsibility
* Raising awareness among employees on climate action and sustainable lifestyle practices

**Significance:**

The observance of Earth Hour serves as a symbolic gesture of commitment to environmental protection. It reinforces the role of government agencies, such as CENRO Loreto, in supporting national and global initiatives toward energy conservation and climate change mitigation.
