𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 🌊

​The Department of Tourism – Region XI successfully conducted two batches of the PADI Open Water Diver Certification Training last April, followed by the PADI Rescue Diver Certification Training during the first week of May, with a total of 23 participants trained and certified.

​The activity gathered participants from various LGUs, dive tourism stakeholders, and regional tour guides to further enhance competencies in dive safety, emergency response, environmental awareness, and responsible marine tourism practices.

​Through classroom discussions and practical open water exercises, participants gained essential knowledge and hands-on skills necessary in promoting safe, sustainable, and world-class dive tourism experiences in the region.

​This initiative reflects DOT XI’s continued commitment to empowering tourism frontliners, supporting coastal communities, and positioning Davao Region as an emerging dive tourism destination in the country.

𝗘𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 ✨

The Department of Tourism – Region XI successfully conducted the Course on Housekeeping, Front Office, Waitering, and Bartending (Leading to NCII Certification) last April 27–30, 2026 at The Pinnacle Hotel and Suites in Davao City with participants from DOT-accredited accommodation establishments across the region.

Conducted through simultaneous and specialized training sessions, the courses provided participants with focused and hands-on learning experiences designed to strengthen competencies in hospitality operations and customer service excellence.

The training also incorporated a session on the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE), highlighting the importance of delivering world-class service anchored on Filipino warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.

This initiative forms part of DOT XI’s continued commitment to developing a highly skilled, globally competitive, and service-oriented tourism workforce in Davao Region.

𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆: 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮 🌊☀️

The Department of Tourism – Region XI proudly participated in the 3-Day Summer Saya Media and Tourism Officers’ Familiarization Tour organized by the City Investment and Tourism Office of the Island Garden City of Samal from May 19–21, 2026.

The familiarization tour showcased Samal Island’s diverse tourism circuits — from eco-adventure sites and marine attractions to cultural experiences, culinary offerings, arts spaces, and community-based tourism initiatives. Participants explored destinations including Monfort Bat Conservation Park, Sanipaan Marine Park, Mt. Puting Bato, Hagimit Falls, Kaputian Beach Park, Talikud Island, Giant Clams Sanctuary, and more.

More than a destination showcase, the activity strengthened collaboration among tourism stakeholders and highlighted the importance of sustainable and community-centered tourism development across the Davao Region.

DOT XI remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote responsible tourism while showcasing the rich natural beauty and unique experiences found in the Davao Region.

From thrilling eco-adventure activities to unforgettable experiences in nature, each completed challenge reflects the growing passion for adventure tourism in the region.

As the challenge continues, more adventurers still have the opportunity to explore accredited destinations, complete activities, and become part of this exciting season.

More than a competition, the Davao Adventure Challenge continues to highlight the Davao Region as a premier destination for eco-adventure, outdoor recreation, and sustainable tourism experiences.

The Department of Tourism – Region XI proudly participated in the 17th Regional Travel Fair held from May 15–17, 2026 at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center in Baguio City. The event gathered tourism stakeholders, exhibitors, travel agencies, and regional tourism offices from across the country to promote domestic travel and strengthen tourism partnerships nationwide.

Through the fair, DOT XI showcased the diverse tourism experiences of the Davao Region — from nature and adventure destinations to culture, gastronomy, and community-based tourism offerings — further positioning the region as a must-visit destination in Mindanao.

The Regional Travel Fair, spearheaded by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), serves as a platform for promoting Philippine destinations, connecting tourism stakeholders, and encouraging more Filipinos to explore the country.
