PNP LAUNCHES FULL-SCALE PROBE INTO DISCOVERY OF TWO LIFELESS BODIES IN RIZAL

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has swiftly launched a comprehensive and high-priority investigation following the grim discovery of two lifeless bodies along the roadside of Sitio Udiongan, Barangay Macabud, Rodriguez, Rizal, on April 9, 2025, at around 6:00 AM.

According to report, a concerned citizen initially alerted authorities after finding the bodies inside a large nylon bag, bound with nylon rope, and their faces covered with duct tape. Upon receiving the report, Barangay Macabud officials promptly informed the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station (MPS), triggering a swift law enforcement response.

Responding officers began an immediate investigation at the scene, and the victims were later identified as two males, one of whom was a Chinese national. The families of the victims positively identified them later that day. The PNP’s initial investigation revealed that the victims were last seen on March 29, 2025, when they left a business location en route to another destination but never reached their intended location. Their subsequent disappearance led to a missing person report.

The Rizal Provincial Crime Laboratory Office (RPCLO) was requested to process the crime scene, and both bodies underwent autopsy procedures to determine the cause of death.

In line with this, PNP Chief Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil ordered the activation of a Special Investigation Task Group (SITG), which will be spearheaded by Police Lieutenant General Edgar Alan O. Okubo, Chief Directorial Staff, assisted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director, Police Major General Nicolas Torre III.

“We are fully committed to bringing justice to the victims and their families. We have mobilized our best resources to ensure a thorough investigation and to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this act. The Philippine National Police will continue to work tirelessly with all concerned units to ensure that those behind this crime will face the full extent of the law,” stated PNP Chief, Marbil.

The PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) and CIDG have also held a joint case conference and confirmed a link between the victims and a previously reported kidnapping case. Backtracking operations are now underway, which include retrieving CCTV footage from nearby establishments. These efforts are essential in tracing the movements of the suspects and are key to identifying and apprehending those responsible for this crime.

The investigation is ongoing, and the PNP remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring justice for the victims. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
