BFP Region XI Ready for Deployment in Response to Cebu Earthquake

In response to the recent 6.9 magnitude earthquake in Bogo City, Cebu Province, the Bureau of Fire Protection Region XI, under the leadership of FCSUPT JUNITO F MASLANG, DSC, has placed all stations within the region on full alert, preparing personnel and available equipment for possible deployment.

The Special Rescue Force (SRF) of BFP XI has also completed the accounting of its rescue tools, vehicles, and resources to ensure immediate USAR/CSSR response.

FCSUPT MASLANG reiterated the bureau’s strong commitment to extend assistance to other regions in times of disasters and emergencies. The men and women of BFP XI stand fully prepared and dedicated to respond to the call of duty, upholding their mandate of saving lives and protecting properties, in any emergencies and disasters.

SCAM ALERT! | The Bureau of Fire Protection Region 11 warns the public against scammers who are using the name of the Regional Director, FCSUPT JUNITO F MASLANG, DSC to make it appear that he is the one placing orders or soliciting donations. Please be advised that the Regional Director has no knowledge, does not tolerate and condones these fraudulent activities.

A scammer has been reported using different cellphone numbers while pretending to be a member of BFP. This individual place fake food orders and other non-food orders and asks for donations, or carries out other deceitful acts under the bureau’s name.

The BFP does NOT authorize the use of its name for personal gain and does NOT place orders or solicit donations through text or phone calls.
The public is strongly advised to:
• Verify the identity of anyone placing an order before delivery.
• Avoid responding to suspicious calls or messages.
• Report immediately any unusual activity/ies to the nearest fire station using official hotline numbers.
