Wireless Elementary School Showcases Best Practices in ARAL Reading Program Implementation

Wireless Elementary School remains committed to ensure literacy for all learners through the effective implementation of the ARAL Reading Program this Summer 2026.

We utilize contextualized and differentiated learning resources, along with the SENSE-LIT multi-sensory approach, individualized instruction, and game-based activities to address diverse reading needs, including those of learners with special needs. Each tutee receives complete reading materials, and teachers maintain sufficient teacher-made materials to ensure quality and continuity of instruction.

Implementation is strengthened through weekly Focus Group Discussions (FGD) for progress monitoring, the deployment of additional external tutors for intensive support, and strong parent engagement.

These best practices have led to measurable gains in letter-sound recognition, decoding skills, and reading confidence. Learners now show reduced reading hesitation and greater willingness to participate in oral reading activities.

Wireless Elementary School extends its gratitude to the DepEd Philippines, DepEd Davao City, ARAL tutors, external partners, and parents for their support.

In Photos | Reviving the ICT Room and Establishing the ALIVE Room

WES continues to take concrete steps toward inclusion and quality learning for all. The school is currently improving our School ICT Room and establishing the Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) Room for our Muslim learners. These spaces are designed to support both digital literacy and culturally responsive education.

These rooms are more than just physical upgrades. The ICT Room will give our learners access to technology that prepares them for the demands of the 21st century. The ALIVE Room will ensure that our Muslim learners have a dedicated, respectful space to learn Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education. Together, they reflect our commitment: no learner gets left behind.

To strengthen this initiative, the school recently held a planning meeting for the upcoming Brigada Eskwela facilitated by our school principal Mr. Anthony C. Batocael. Teachers came together to map out tasks, set timelines, and pool resources. The focus was clear — ensure that all improvement works are completed with safety and quality in mind.

The school aims to fully revive the old building into a safe, hazard-free, and functional learning space. The school is clearing risks, repairing structures, and making sure every corner is conducive to learning. This means ensuring that every wall and floor is safe, replacing termite-infested walls with strong and new ones, fixing ceilings to prevent leaks, and prioritizing rewiring to keep the place safe from fire and other hazards.

This is NOT JUST A REPAINT to make things look new. The school is doing its best to ensure that the renovation truly makes the building SAFE FOR LEARNERS, with the help of school funds and the continued support of parents and stakeholders.

We believe that a SAFE SCHOOL is a STRONG SCHOOL. With the help of our teachers, parents, stakeholders, and community partners, we are turning this vision into reality.
