San Lorenzo Elementary School, Talomo West District, actively participated in the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) as part of its initiative to strengthen disaster preparedness and enhance safety awareness within the school community.
The activity served as a practical mechanism to assess the readiness of both learners and school personnel in responding to potential earthquake emergencies. During the drill, all learners and school personnel properly executed the “Drop, Cover, and Hold” procedure, which is the recommended safety response during earthquake incidents.
Through this activity, participants enhanced their awareness, responsiveness, and overall preparedness in the event of an actual seismic occurrence.
Following the drill, a post-evaluation was conducted by the school principal, Dr. Juniousar R. Caballes, and the school DRRM coordinator, Ma’am Imeeh L. Duray, to assess the effectiveness of the implementation, identify areas that require improvement, and ensure that all participants clearly understood the appropriate actions to take during earthquake emergencies.
Through the consistent conduct of preparedness activities such as this, San Lorenzo Elementary School continues to promote a culture of disaster readiness, safety, and resilience among learners and school personnel, thereby strengthening the school community’s capacity to respond effectively to emergencies.
