Youth Leaders' Advocacy on Climate Action and Development

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐎 𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐎𝐏𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐔𝐌 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒

Last July 24-25, 2024, YLACAD participated in this year's Mindanao Development Forum 2024 at Acacia Hotel.

With this year's theme,"𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐎 𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐀: 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞, 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐭, 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞, 𝐅𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬", YLACAD was able to collectively envision a Mindanao that ensures peace, continual growth, empowering communities, preserving the environment and fostering strategic partnerships as cornerstones for Mindanao's sustainable development in the next coming years.

The forum was attended by various stakeholders from the national government and partners from national and international settings.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Mindanao Development Authority for giving us the opportunity to involve the youth in this significant agenda.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 | 𝗖𝗢𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗡-𝗨𝗣 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘

No doubt, polluted beaches can harm not just the environment but also human health.

Last June 15, Love Philippines Movement, Inc. spearheaded a Coastal Clean-Up Initiative for Barangay Centro, San Juan, Agdao.

Together with other volunteers from YLACAD and the Ecoteneo Student Unit from Ateneo de Davao University, the activity indeed was a success, and it surely allowed the participants to be enlightened on how every sack of trash removed is a step towards a healthier planet!

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 | 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 🤍💙💚

YLACAD, along with their fellow eco-warriors, joined the 4th EcoSummit Forum spearheaded by the SAMAHAN Ecoteneo Student Unit of Ateneo de Davao University, last April 27.

Our representatives surely had an enlightening time, learning more about the current environmental issues we have, and the possible solutions shared by the event's esteemed speakers.

"𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲."

Connecting with our fellow youth in this year's State of the Youth Address spearheaded by Rise for Education-Davao, our participants got to learn a lot about the pressing issues the Dabawenyo and Filipino youth are experiencing today—including the possible ways on how to address them.

Being part of the Filipino youth, we must open our eyes to the reality of the state of our society. As we advocate for environmental stewardship, 𝘸𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦.

LOVE THE YOUTH!

To celebrate our first year, we conducted the momentous 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔: 𝒀𝑳𝑨𝑪𝑨𝑫'𝒔 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑴𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 activity! Together with the amazing LakBai Tv and our passionate volunteers, we were able to plant a great number of mangroves. 🌱

The Youth Leaders' Advocacy on Climate Action and Development is blessed to achieve this wonderful milestone. We became a team who worked together not just in embodying our shared values, but also in actualizing our advocacies. 🤍

Like the mangroves we planted, may we also grow and nourish as an environmental youth organization. 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲! 💚
