The Davao City Tourism Operations Office conducted a courtesy meeting with the Royal Mandaya Hotel team, together with their newly appointed General Manager, Lani Tiozon, to explore opportunities for future collaborations.

The discussion focused on strengthening partnership efforts in tourism promotions, hospitality initiatives, and upcoming city-led events that support Davao’s growing visitor experience.

The Davao City Tourism Operations Office participated in the presentation of the Davao City Halal Tourism Development Plan last May 28, 2026.

The plan outlines key strategies to further strengthen Davao’s position as a Halal-friendly destination, focusing on inclusive tourism services, improved standards, and expanded opportunities for Halal-certified establishments and experiences within the city.

Davao City aims to roll out enhanced Halal tourism programs that will support both visitors and local stakeholders, ensuring a more welcoming and culturally sensitive tourism environment for all.

The Davao City Tourism Operations Office joined the opening of Beautiful Beginnings 2026 last May 29, at Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao—a three-day bridal fair celebrating love, creativity, and dream weddings.

The event brings together top wedding suppliers and event professionals, offering couples a one-stop destination for everything they need from gowns and styling ideas to venues, catering, and more. Highlights include curated showcases like the bridal runway and culinary experiences that inspire unforgettable celebrations.

On May 20, 2026, the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) facilitated a Safety and Security Coordination Meeting in preparation for the upcoming Duaw Davao 2026 at the PSSO Conference Room.

The meeting was attended by members of the Safety and Security Cluster together with representatives from the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO). The CTOO presided over the discussion and presented the lineup of activities, including the floor plans and layouts of the event areas, as well as the designated parade routes. The Event Organizers of Official Duaw Davao Events likewise presented the same plans and requested the augmentation of medical personnel and heightened security visibility during the conduct of the activities.

Further discussed during the meeting were reminders from Task Force Davao regarding the observance of the culture of security, the strict implementation of frisking procedures, and the installation of posters containing the do’s and don’ts at the entrances of every event venue to ensure public safety and order throughout the celebration.
