๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐จ ๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ โ A shared commitment to selfless service united military personnel, local government units, and medical professionals to deliver critical healthcare services to remote, unserved, and underserved communities in the Province of Davao de Oro from May 15-16, 2026.
The two-day medical and dental outreach mission brought together Remote Area Medical (RAM) Philippines, the Municipal Local Government Units (LGUs) of Montevista and New Bataan, the Provincial LGU of Davao de Oro, and the 25th Infantry (Fireball) Battalion, 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army. Driven by a mutual desire to serve, these agencies synchronized efforts to reach communities with limited access to healthcare.
The mission started on May 15 at Sitio Bagtok, Barangay San Vicente, in Montevista, with full support from Mayor Cyrex Basalo. On May 16, operations moved to Sitio Mission, Barangay Andap, in New Bataan, where Mayor Atty. Mar Bianca Cualing-Brua personally oversaw the activities.
Both operational areas are situated within vulnerable, unserved, and underserved communities that previously served as guerrilla bases for the communist terrorist movement. This joint outreach directly supports the provincial government's ongoing governance and stabilization efforts under the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) โ OPLAN PAGBABAGO, led by Governor Raul Mabanglo. The initiative aims to bridge governance gaps by systematically delivering essential public services to conflict-affected localities.
Dr. Heidi Sampang, founder and country manager of RAM Philippines, led the contingent of healthcare volunteers. In close coordination with the 25th Infantry Battalion and local chief executives, RAM Philippines deliberately selected these sites to maximize the impact of their specialized care. Residents expressed deep gratitude for the high-quality medical and dental attention provided during the intervention.
