In an order dated April 21, 2026, the Regional Trial Court of Baguio City convicted a 27-year-old man, alias "Cervo", for violation of Section 5(d) of RA No. 12010 [Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act (AFASA)] and sentenced him to suffer the penalty of imprisonment of four (4) years as minimum to four (4) years and six (6) months as maximum.

"Cervo" was arrested on June 3, 2025, through an entrapment operation conducted by the Baguio City Cyber Response Team for the illegal online sale of a financial account through an automated teller machine card.

This operation supports the directive of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), to ensure that anti-cybercrime laws are fully implemented and violators are promptly penalized.

PBGEN Wilson C. Asueta, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), lauded the team for the court's conviction of the arrested individual. โ€œThis conviction is a warning that those involved in the illegal trade of e-wallets and financial accounts will be held accountable. The PNP ACG urges the public to safeguard their personal accounts and report any suspicious online transactions to the nearest ACG office,โ€ he said.

The Baguio City Cyber Response Team (CRT) arrested a 45-year-old man, alias "Leo," on April 22, 2026, at about 1:25 PM in Baguio City, by virtue of a warrant of arrest duly issued by the court.

"Leo" is facing charges for violation of Section 4(c)(4) (Libel) of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), with bail set at Php10,000.00.

This operation supports the directive of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), to ensure that anti-cybercrime laws are fully implemented and violators are promptly penalized.

The Kalinga Provincial Cyber Response Team (PCRT) arrested a man, identified by the alias "Tabu," on April 23, 2026, at about 9:30 AM in Flora, Apayao, by virtue of a warrant of arrest duly issued by the court.

"Tabu" is facing charges for violation of Section 4(c)(4) (Libel) of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), with bail set at Php10,000.00.

The Sultan Kudarat Provincial Cyber Response Team (PCRT) conducted an entrapment operation on April 23, 2026, at about 12:10 PM in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, that led to the arrest of a 25-year-old man, alias "Harry," for offering online and engaging in unauthorized dental services.

"Harry" is facing charges for violation of Section 33(a) of RA No. 9484 (Philippine Dental Act of 2007), in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

This operation supports the directive of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), to ensure that anti-cybercrime laws are fully implemented and violators are promptly penalized.

The Lanao Del Norte Provincial Cyber Response Team (PCRT) served a warrant of arrest inside the custodial facility of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) - Iligan City on April 23, 2026, at about 3:00 in Iligan City, against a 67-year-old man, alias "Mang Oli," who has a pending warrant of arrest for online sexual exploitation of children and statutory r**e.

โ€œMang Oliโ€ is facing charges for three counts of violation of Statutory R**e and Section 4 of RA No. 11930 (Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act of 2022), wherein no recommended bail was imposed for both cases.

This operation supports the directive of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), to ensure that anti-cybercrime laws are fully implemented and violators are promptly penalized.

The Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 3 (RACU 3) conducted an entrapment operation on April 23, 2026, at about 3:20 PM in San Fernando, Pampanga, that led to the arrest of a male suspect, alias "Echo," for scamming a businesswoman.

"Echo" is facing charges for violation of Article 315 (Swindling/Estafa) of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

This operation supports the directive of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), to ensure that anti-cybercrime laws are fully implemented and violators are promptly penalized.
