In order to give way to clearing operations and ensure the safety and welfare of individuals affected by flooding incidents in the city due to heavy rainfall brought by Easterlies and ITCZ on Monday evening, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔:

1. Face-to-face classes and school activities in ALL LEVELS in all public and private educational institutions in the city are hereby suspended;

2. Work in all national and local government offices, including government-owned and controlled corporations in Davao City, is suspended, EXCEPT for offices performing safety and security, health, social services and disaster and emergency response services;

3. Private offices and establishments are given the discretion to suspend work but are encouraged to do so for the welfare and safety of their employees.

The City Government of Davao City continues to strengthen its commitment to safe and drug-free workplaces as it launches the Sixth Batch of the 2026 Drug-Free Workplace Program Assessment Team Training held on May 07-08, 2026.

Held at Ateneo de Davao University and facilitated by the Ateneo de Davao University – Center Against Illegal Drugs (CAID), this comprehensive initiative gathered dedicated professionals from diverse sectors, united by a shared commitment to strengthen workplace policies and combat substance abuse.

The Office of the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) joins the City Government of Davao in implementing Flexible Fridays starting April 17, 2026.

While regular office hours will continue from Monday to Thursday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), a work-from-home arrangement will be observed every Friday for functions that can be performed remotely.

Rest assured, CADAC remains fully committed to delivering continuous and responsive services to the community as we support the city’s energy conservation efforts.

The City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) successfully conducted the CADAC MOP Development Workshop: Strengthening Governance and Integrated Systems for Drug Recovery and Reintegration last April 16–17, 2026 at the Green Room Conference Hall, Sangguniang Panlungsod, City Government of Davao.

This two-day workshop was conducted in partnership with the Davao City Justice Zone and facilitated by the Center Against Illegal Drugs of the Ateneo de Davao University, bringing together key stakeholders, partner agencies, and program implementers to collaboratively develop a comprehensive Manual of Operations (MOP) for CADAC.

Through participatory discussions, process mapping, and breakout sessions, participants successfully developed:

The workshop aimed to strengthen governance, improve coordination, and establish an integrated continuum of care for drug prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and reintegration in Davao City.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in strengthening collaborative efforts among government agencies, academic institutions, and partner organizations toward building safer, more resilient, and drug-free communities.

The City Government of Davao, through CADAC, extends its sincere appreciation to the Davao City Justice Zone, Center Against Illegal Drugs – Ateneo de Davao University, and all participating agencies for their valuable contributions to the success of this initiative.

Together, we continue to strengthen systems, improve coordination, and support recovery and reintegration for a better Davao City.
