[𝐄𝐍𝐃-𝐔𝐒𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆]

End-User Training on the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐄-𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝘀 (𝐏𝐄𝐉) was successfully concluded on 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 30, 2026.

The 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥, 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 with the 𝐈𝐓 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, successfully completed an End-User Training on the newly added academic database, the Philippine E-Journals (PEJ), conducted by 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐨, 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐄-𝐋𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐈𝐧𝐜.

The training equipped participants with hands-on knowledge on navigating and maximizing the PEJ, a rich digital resource that provides access to peer‑reviewed Philippine journals, scholarly articles, research papers, and conference proceedings across various fields of study. Designed to support academic learning and research, PEJ offers students reliable, locally published content essential for assignments, theses, and research projects.

With this training, library and IT personnel are now better prepared to assist students in using PEJ effectively and making the most of this valuable academic resource.

In observance of 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲, the Rizal Memorial Colleges Inc., 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 presents Debunking Librarianship Myths, a visual and informational campaign that 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧. The materials featured underscore modern librarianship as a regulated, highly skilled, and technology driven field grounded in national standards and professional practice.

The RMC Library Department reaffirms its commitment to professional excellence and recognizes librarians as essential contributors to education, research, and community development. As the dignity of labor is commemorated, librarians are acknowledged not merely as custodians of books but as critical enablers of informed communities and empowered learners whose work reflects intellectual rigor, continuous professional development, and dedicated public service.

In accordance with Proclamation No. 1006, Series of 2025, issued by the Office of the President of the Philippines, 𝐌𝐚𝐲 1 (𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲) is officially declared a 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 throughout the country. This national observance honors the invaluable contributions of Filipino workers across all sectors whose dedication and commitment continue to advance nation-building, economic growth, and social development.

In line with this declaration, library operations shall observe an 𝐚𝐝𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞. Beginning 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 27, 2026, 𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 8:00 𝐚.𝐦. 𝐭𝐨 5:00 𝐩.𝐦., 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲.

The revised library schedule will continue the following week starting May 4, 2026, with operating hours set at 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., from Monday to Thursday, until further notice.

The public is advised to take note of the adjusted schedule and plan their visits accordingly.

𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 are respectfully requested to first secure a countersignature from their respective departmental library. This step is required to verify that there are no outstanding borrowed materials or pending library obligations under their account.

Each recognition stood as a testament to commitment, resilience, and the enduring spirit of service that defines the Rizal Memorial Colleges, Inc. community.

In addition, 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 were awarded to individuals and teams who exemplified excellence beyond tenure. A Certificate of Appreciation for ACSCU-ACI Accreditation Visit was presented in acknowledgment of collective efforts toward institutional quality and standards.
