Despite the taxing demands of being relatively new at university teaching, I am still reeling from the fact that the community validation of Bagobo-Klata vocabulary is now done. Just in time for the submission of my MA thesis. It is hoped that with this material, more Bagobo-Klata children who speak Cebuano as their L1 would learn how to speak their great/grand/parents' L1, so Bagobo-Klata would not be lost.

I have a lot to thank for this endeavor, which could have not been possible had it not been for Pagdatu-a Organization led by Datu Jesse M. Kagawa, the tribal chieftain of Brgy. Calinan (Pob.), and its members and the validators from different barangays within the Bagobo-Klata ancestral domain, Tita Joyce Nor Kagawa Verdan of Brgy. Calinan (Pob.), Tita Inday Buan of Brgy. Talandang, Tita Jadedaryl Bugcal of Brgy. Cadalian, Tita Clara Icdang of Brgy. Tamayong, Tita Mayang Kho of Brgy. Malagos, Pastor Shem Ligue of Brgy. Wines, and many more. More importantly, if not for Ven Bato, I would not have met and known all of these language consultants. Also, I appreciate the elders of Calinan for being present in most sessions, especially Auntie Fely. Thank you for being proactive, Biyyâ Rudelyn Lacorte Balzote of Brgy. Bago Oshiro.

Finally, this vocabulary is dedicated to Bagobo-Klata elders who had passed on before its completion, Auntie Mindaliza "Inday" Duyan of Brgy. Subasta and Datu Marcelino "Cocoy" Betil.
