The Davao City Police Office (DCPO), under the leadership of PCOL PETER B MADRIA, City Director, conducted a series of on-the-spot inspections and corrections (OTSIC) among deployed patrollers of Mobile Patrol Unit and Tourist Police Unit particulary along Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) and Quirino St., Corner Governor Duterte St near Davao Doctors Hospital. .

The activity aimed to strengthen police operational readiness, personnel discipline, and strategic police visibility in the communities to ensure the immediate prevention and response to criminal activities and public safety concerns.

During the inspection, PCOL MADRIA emphasized the vital role of proactive and visible policing in deterring crimes and maintaining peace and order. He reminded deployed personnel to remain alert, approachable, and actively engaged with residents to foster stronger police-community relations and public trust.

He further underscored the importance of familiarization and coordination among adjacent and nearby deployed patrollers to guarantee seamless communication, faster mobilization, and immediate response during emergencies and law enforcement operations.

The DCPO continues to intensify its capability enhancement and supervision programs to ensure that all personnel remain disciplined, mission-oriented, and fully responsive in delivering effective police service to the people of Davao City.

DCPO Presents Unit Accomplishments During CPOC 2nd Quarter Regular Meeting

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO), under the leadership of PCOL PETER B MADRIA, City Director, presented its unit accomplishments on peace and order, law enforcement efforts, and crime situation during the City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) 2nd Quarter Regular Meeting. The meeting was presided over by Hon. Vice Mayor Rodrigo โ€œRigoโ€ Duterte II and held at the Arcadia Event Center, Quimpo Boulevard, Davao City.

Also in attendance were Ms. Mikaโ€‘Chan S. Magtulis, CESO V, City Director of DILG Davao City and CPOC Secretariat; Atty. Luna Maria Dominique Acosta, City Councilor, 1st District; Atty. Francis Mark H. Layog, City Administrator; PCOL ANGEL B. SUMAGAYSAY, PSSO Officer Inโ€‘Charge; along with other department heads and representatives.

During the meeting, Hon. Duterte commended all members of the Safety and Security Cluster for the successful Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) conducted last May 29, 2026. The SIMEX tested the cityโ€™s emergency response protocols, interโ€‘agency coordination, and readiness of police and partner units in handling crisis scenarios. The exercise demonstrated the capability of DCPO and allied agencies to respond swiftly and effectively to potential threats, reinforcing public confidence in the cityโ€™s safety and security framework.

Issues and concerns raised during the meeting included the intensification of local ordinances particularly on curfew for minors, illegal mufflers and antiโ€‘noise nuisance, illegal drag racing along the Davao Coastal Road, and the increasing traffic accidents near school vicinities.

The DCPO, under the leadership of PCOL MADRIA, reaffirmed its commitment to intensify police operations by strictly enforcing curfew ordinances for minors, establishing targeted checkpoints against illegal mufflers and drag racing along the coastal road, and deploying additional patrols near schools to reduce traffic accidents. These actions will be implemented in close coordination with barangay officials and partner agencies to ensure swift, effective, and sustained results.

In line with the Davao City Police Officeโ€™s commitment to strengthen community partnership and enhance peace and order initiatives at the grassroots level, PCOL PETER B MADRIA, City Director of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), spearheaded a Meet and Greet activity with barangay officials under the jurisdiction of Police Station 4 โ€“ Sasa. The activity was held at the Barangay Sasa Function Hall, Sasa, Davao City.

The activity served as a venue for open communication and collaboration between the police and barangay leaders in identifying pressing community concerns and formulating responsive interventions to address them effectively.

During the dialogue, barangay officials raised concerns regarding illegal drugs, curfew violations involving minors, theft incidents, and illegal gambling activities within their respective areas. In response, the DCPO and barangay officials collectively agreed to strengthen the implementation of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC), intensify awareness campaigns on curfew ordinances, and reinforce police and barangay patrol operations to deter criminal activities, particularly illegal gambling and theft.

These collaborative and proactive measures aim to prevent crimes before they occur, promote community involvement, and ensure that public safety programs are effectively implemented at the barangay level.

In his message, PCOL MADRIA emphasized the importance of proactive policing, open communication, and strong collaboration with barangay officials in addressing community concerns. He underscored that relentless anti-illegal drug operations, strict enforcement of local ordinances, intensified crime prevention efforts, and the identification of criminals and would-be offenders remain vital strategies in safeguarding communities.

He further reaffirmed the DCPOโ€™s unwavering commitment to stand side-by-side with barangay leaders and the community in relentlessly pursuing peace and order, ensuring that every initiative contributes to a safer, stronger, and more resilient Davao City.

DCPO EXPRESSES GRATITUDE TO DAVAO GOLDEN HARDWARE INC. FOR SUPPORT TO BRIGADA ESKWELA 2026

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO), under the leadership of PCOL PETER BAUZON MADRIA, City Director, expresses its heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Eugene T. Go of Davao Golden Hardware Inc., Goldcrest Building, Km. 3 MacArthur Highway, Matina, Davao City, for his generous donation of containers of paint in support of the Brigada Eskwela 2026 Kick-Off Program.

The donated paint containers were properly turned over to Maa Central Elementary School on June 1, 2026, as part of the collective efforts to prepare the school facilities for the upcoming opening of classes.

DCPO STRENGTHENS SUPPORT FOR EDUCATION DURING BRIGADA ESKWELA 2026 KICK-OFF AT MAA CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

In line with the governmentโ€™s continuing commitment to promote quality education, community participation, and safe learning environments, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), under the leadership of PCOL PETER BAUZON MADRIA, City Director, actively participated in the Brigada Eskwela 2026 Kick-Off Program held at Maa Central Elementary School, Maa District, Davao City, at around 8:00 AM.

Representing PCOL MADRIA during the activity was PMAJ JAKE GOLES, Chief of the City Community Affairs Development Unit (CCADU), together with PMAJ ROSE AGUILAR, Chief of the Family, Juvenile, and Gender and Development (FJGAD), and PMAJ PHILIP DAVE UDDIN, Station Commander of Police Station 16-Maa. They joined the Department of Education personnel, barangay officials, stakeholders, volunteers, community partners, and representatives from the Local Government Unit in the launching of the nationwide school maintenance and preparation campaign.

With the theme, โ€œBayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa Para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,โ€ the activity highlighted the spirit of unity, volunteerism, and cooperation among various sectors in ensuring that schools are safe, clean, organized, and conducive to learning as students prepare for the opening of classes.

Davao City โ€“ Starting May 12, 2026 onwards, in line with the leadership and operational directives of PCOL PETER BAUZON MADRIA, City Director of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), the DCPO continues to strengthen the operational capability, tactical preparedness, and firearm proficiency of its personnel through the conduct of Dry Fire Exercises held at the DCPO Firing Range.

As part of this initiative, DCPO-SWAT personnel were tasked to facilitate the dry fire exercises utilizing issued short and long fi****ms. The activity serves as a vital training measure aimed at enhancing fi****ms handling skills, improving accuracy and tactical discipline, reinforcing safety protocols, and ensuring responsible firearm management among police personnel.

This initiative supports the PNP Five-Point Focused Agenda of PGEN JOSE MELENCIO C NARTATEZ JR., Chief of the Philippine National Police, particularly on enhanced police operations, integrity monitoring, and active community support. It also reflects the DCPOโ€™s commitment to maintaining a highly disciplined, competent, and mission-ready police force capable of responding effectively to any peace and order situation.

Under the proactive leadership of PCOL MADRIA, the conduct of regular dry fire exercises highlights the importance of continuous training and professional development in law enforcement. Through this activity, personnel are further equipped with the confidence, readiness, and operational competence necessary in the performance of their duties while adhering to the highest standards of police professionalism and accountability.
