The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) recognized outstanding Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) across the country during the 5th National Convention on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (5NCCRVS) held on 06โ€“07 October 2026. The awards recognized the 2025 outstanding performance of LCROs in civil registration services.

Representatives of the awardee LCROs from the Davao Region received the awards, accompanied by PSA RSSO XI OIC-Regional Director Baby Jean P. Alid during the recognition ceremony.

๐‡๐€๐๐๐„๐๐ˆ๐๐† ๐๐Ž๐– | PSA RSSO XI conducts PSA Open House Day: Serbisyong PSA Para sa Lahat, in celebration of the 37th National Statistics Month (NSM).

The activity formally opened at 8:00 AM with welcome remarks, presentation of the rationale and PSA services, and a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.

From 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, various PSA services were simultaneously provided, including Civil Registration Services, National ID Services, Statistical Products and Services, Legal Services, Careers at PSA, and GAD Desk assistance. A Pop Quiz was also conducted at the CRS Outlet as a side activity.
The open house provided an opportunity for the public to learn about and access the various programs and services of the PSA, while promoting greater awareness of the agency's role in delivering accessible and responsive public service.

Located in Davao del Norte, the Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCoS) is a coastal paradise made up of 46 barangays, 31 of which are coastal. The island is largely agricultural, with farming and fishing serving as major sources of income for local communities. However, tourism is its biggest industry, providing employment for thousands of workers and indirectly benefiting thousands more through the informal employment sector. With tourism, farming, and fishing at the heart of its economy, Samal continues to pursue its vision of becoming a โ€œLivable and Resilient Island Garden City.โ€

Located at the heart of Davao Gulf, Samal thrives as a natural jewel just across from mainland Davao. The island is home to thousands of species and takes pride in its diverse parks and sanctuaries that protect and support its rich wildlife and natural habitats.

Among its environmental treasures is a 224-hectare mariculture park that promotes sustainable fisheries, along with an 11.5-hectare government-owned botanical garden and nature park home to hundreds of flora species. Samal is also home to Mindanaoโ€™s first mangrove park, where studies on mangrove ecosystems are conducted.

Beyond its natural attractions, Samal is also known for producing the Samal Sweet Mango, one of its prized agricultural products. At least 2,000 hectares of land in the city are planted with mangoes, with some of the harvest exported to different parts of the world.

Since its creation, the Island Garden City of Samal, or simply Samal Island, has grown by leaps and bounds. Today, it stands as a top tourist destination in the Davao Region and continues to aspire to become one of the top-of-mind tourist destinations in Mindanao and the Philippines.

The Philippine Statistics Authority โ€“ Regional Statistical Services Office XI (PSA-RSSO XI) announces the conduct of the October 2026 round of the Labor Force Survey (LFS) and the 2026 Survey on Overseas Filipinos (SOF) as part of the PSAโ€™s continuing nationwide effort to generate timely, reliable, and relevant statistics on the countryโ€™s labor market.

For the October 2026 round, enumeration will be conducted from 08 to 31 October 2026. During this period, trained PSA interviewers will visit selected sample households to conduct face-to-face interviews and gather the necessary information.

The PSA assures all respondents that information collected through the surveys will be treated with the strictest confidentiality and will be used solely for statistical purposes, in accordance with Section 26 of Republic Act No. 10625, also known as the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013.

The PSA encourages all selected households to participate actively in the survey and provide complete, accurate, and truthful information. Their cooperation is essential in ensuring the production of reliable and meaningful statistics that will support informed decision-making and the formulation of policies and programs for the Filipino people.
