[USAPING PANGKALUSUGAN] | Mga Paraan para Maiwasan ang MONKEY POX o MPOX

1. Iwasan ang Malapitang Kontak sa May Sintomas
Huwag makipaglapit o makipag-ugnayan sa mga taong may pantal o sugat na kahawig ng mpox. Kasama rito ang pag-iwas sa skin-to-skin contact at pakikipagtalik sa mga taong may sintomas.

2. Panatilihin ang Kalinisan ng Kamay
Ugaliing maghugas ng k**ay gamit ang sabon at tubig, lalo na pagkatapos humawak sa mga taong may mpox o sa kanilang mga gamit. Kung walang sabon at tubig, gumamit ng alcohol-based hand sanitizer na may hindi bababa sa 60% alkohol.

3. Iwasan ang Paggamit ng Mga Personal na Gamit ng Iba
Huwag gamitin ang mga damit, tuwalya, o k**a ng taong may mpox. Siguraduhing malinis at nadisinfekta ang mga gamit bago gamitin. ​

4. Maglinis at Magdisinfect ng Mga Lugar
Linisin at disinfekta ang mga lugar na maaaring kontaminado ng virus, lalo na kung may kasamang taong may mpox sa bahay. ​

5. Magpabakuna Kung Inirerekomenda
Kung ikaw ay kabilang sa mga high-risk na grupo o na-expose sa mpox, magpabakuna agad. Ang bakunang MVA-BN (Jynneos) ay inaprubahan para sa mga nasa panganib. ​

6. Mag-isolate Kung May Sintomas
Kung ikaw ay may sintomas ng mpox, manatili sa bahay at iwasan ang pakikisalamuha sa iba hanggang sa gumaling ang mga sugat at magkaroon ng bagong balat. ​

BFP TAGUM RESPONDS—NOT TO SMOKE, BUT TO A SNAKE | The Bureau of Fire Protection - Tagum City Central Fire Station, through its Special Rescue Force (SRF), responded to an animal rescue operation on April 22, 2025, at Yakal Street, Bermudez Plain, Tagum City.

Led by Tagum City Fire Marshal, FSINSP ESEQUIL M TABON, the team safely retrieved a snake found within the residential area, ensuring the safety of both residents and the animal.

With calm coordination and professional response, the SRF team once again demonstrated that the role of firefighters goes beyond extinguishing flames. From fire suppression to rescue operations, BFP Tagum remains committed to protecting lives and maintaining community safety.

Their quick action is a reflection of their dedication to public service—responding with readiness, skill, and compassion in every situation.

RD MASLANG AWARDS 'MEDALYA NG PAPURI' TO FO1 DE ASIS | FO1 Alfred Vincent S De Asis of Tagum City Fire Station was honored with the Medalya ng Papuri for his exemplary honesty and integrity after returning P200,000.00 he found during a firefighting operation. The awarding was personally led by the Regional Director of BFP 11, FCSUPT JUNITO F MASLANG, DSC, who praised FO1 De Asis for embodying the true spirit of public service.

The incident took place last Friday in Purok Durian, Seminary Drive, Brgy. Mangga, Tagum City, where firefighters responded swiftly to a fire that damaged one establishment. Amid the emergency response, FO1 De Asis found a large sum of cash and, without hesitation, turned it over to the authorities to ensure it would be returned to its rightful owner.

During the awarding ceremony, RD MASLANG emphasized the importance of integrity in the Bureau, stating, “Integrity is doing the right thing even if nobody’s watching.” He added that FO1 De Asis’ honest act is a living example of the core principles under his MASI leadership—Morale, Accountability, Service-Oriented mindset, and Integrity.

This commendable act not only boosted the morale of the Bureau but also served as a shining example of the kind of dedication and trustworthiness expected of every public servant. The BFP continues to urge the public to remain vigilant and to always observe fire safety practices.
