Crafting Future Side-Hustles: 33 Brgy. 7-A Artisans Unleash Their Inner 'Florist' with Silangan MPC

On May 25, 2026, the Brgy. 7-A Covered Court in Poblacion District was filled with pure creativity, vibrant colors, and non-stop laughter. A total of 33 energetic participants joined our Fuzzy Wire Flower Making skills training, made possible through our wonderful partnership with the generous Silangan Multi-purpose Cooperative!

The enthusiasm was so high that everyone was deeply focused on twisting, shaping, and perfecting their crafts. Gracing the productive event with his full support was Sir Abito E. Salcedo III, REB, an active and dedicated member of the Silangan MPC Board of Directors.

To make things even more exciting, we held a surprise pop-up competition! Our talented judges had a hard time picking the top crafts, but special honors eventually went to our Champion, 1st runner-up, and 2nd runner-up winners who demonstrated exceptional neatness and eye-catching floral designs.

As a beautiful cherry on top, the big-hearted Silangan Multi-purpose Cooperative expressed their gratitude by awarding a special token of appreciation to the CCDO-CLTC team for our community contribution. Daghang salamat, Silangan MPC!

Smells Like Teacher Spirit: Calinan Educators Spark New Livelihood Opportunities!

Last May 22, 2026, a total of 26 participants gathered at the Calinan National High School in Brgy. Calinan Proper for an exciting, hands-on Basic Perfume Making training. This special capability-building session was specifically requested by the Calinan Secondary Teachers' Cooperative, aiming to help our hard-working teacher-members add new income streams, beat rising costs, and foster a strong entrepreneurial spirit within their association.

Our brilliant participants didn't just learn how to blend exquisite scents. They immediately found creative ways to bring this practical knowledge back to their students!

One of the teachers shared fantastic feedback, mentioning that they plan to incorporate the chemistry of fragrance formulation into their Science topics and use the step-by-step process for their English writing lessons. Now that’s what we call hitting two birds with one aromatic stone.

A total of 36 dedicated participants from various cooperatives and associations gathered for our Basic Homecare Products Preparation training. Under the expert guidance of Mrs. Ma. Edna V. Haspe - CLTC Head, our trainees learned the secrets to formulating high-quality household cleaners.

𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

The City Cooperative Development Office- Cooperative Livelihood and Training Center (CCDO-CLTC) conducted on Friday April 17, a bread and pastry training to 36 participants composed of coop and non-coop members.

According to CLTC, in an official post on Monday, training participants were able to prepare baked goods such as choco moist cake, revel bars, ensaymada, and chocolate cookies. They are also equipped with practical knowledge they can use for livelihood and small business opportunities.

Ma. Edna V. Haspe, CCDO- CLTC Head, told Madayaw Davao on Friday that this is the first bread and pasty training they have had after four years, utilizing as venue the Magnegosyo Ta' Day Training Center.

"We are excited to conduct this training because finally nagamit na nato ang atong (we were able to use our) building for this," she said.

Haspe said that they had a mixed group with coops selected by the CCDO district heads and the non-coop participants, who applied online through the CLTC page.

She said that the training was free with ingredients fully funded by the City Government. The CLTC also partnered with the Alliance of Mindanao Bakers, whose members shared their expertise as resource persons for the training.

The training is part of the CCDO-CLTC’s continuing commitment to empower individuals through accessible, skills-based learning programs that uplift lives and strengthen local cooperatives.

The center, through a Facebook statement, extended appreciation to the resource persons and congratulated all the participants with optimism that their newly gained experience will open doors to more livelihood opportunities.

Meanwhile, the CCDO-CLTC's next training schedule is the Fuzzy Wire Flower Making in Toril this April 28.

This activity, spearheaded by CCDO-CLTC, gathered a total of 36 participants, composed of both cooperative and non-cooperative members, who eagerly took part in learning essential baking and pastry skills. 🍞🥐 Participants were able to prepare and produce delicious baked goods such as choco moist cake, revel bars, ensaymada, and chocolate cookies, equipping them with practical knowledge they can use for livelihood and small business opportunities.

The training forms part of CCDO-CLTC’s continuing commitment to empower individuals through accessible, skills-based learning programs that uplift lives and strengthen local cooperatives.
