OFFICIAL STATEMENT

For my 8 years as the Tribal Deputy Mayor- Obu-Manuvu Tribe, I am beyond grateful to all who help me and support me throughout my service and serving our community in this capacity has been a profound honor and responsibility.

During my term, I endeavored to uphold the values, traditions, and aspirations of our tribe by supporting community-led initiatives, strengthening local governance, and advocating for programs that promote cultural preservation, unity, and sustainable development.

I have worked closely with all the Punong Barangay with their respective Barangay Council, all the Tribal Council Elders and Leaders, from Barangay Tamugan, Barangay Suawan, Barangay Bantol, Barangay Dalag, Barangay Salaysay, Barangay Magsaysay, Barangay Malamba and Barangay Marilog Proper and community members to ensure that our decisions reflected shared values and the collective welfare of our people.

I am grateful for the trust and cooperation extended to me throughout my service.

The experiences and lessons I have gained from working with our tribal leadership and constituents will remain with me, and my commitment to the growth and empowerment of our community will continue even beyond this role.

I extend my sincere appreciation to the City Mayor Mayor Sebastian "Baste" Duterte , the Vice Mayor Hon. Rigo Duterte II and 3rd District Congressman Hon. Isidro Ungab and all the honorable City Councilor from the 18th City Council until 21st City Council of Davao City, and the entire community for the opportunity to serve.

I extend my sincere thank you to H.E Vice President Inday Sara Duterte, for guiding and helping me since the day that I assumed the position of my late father Deputy Omelis Duyan.

LOOK | Acting Mayor Sebastian Z. Duterte and Acting Vice Mayor Rodrigo S. Duterte II officially took their oaths, by law of succession, as Mayor and Vice Mayor of Davao City, respectively, on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Davao City Hall.

RTC XI Deputy Executive Judge Honorable Marie Estrellita S. Tolentino-Rojas administered the oaths of office to both officials.

Also present during the ceremony were Congressman Isidro Ungab, DILG Davao City Director Mika-Chan Magtulis, and Atty. Martin Delgra.

The Davao City Peace 911 recently conducted a Five (5)-Day Dressmaking Training for Indigenous Peoples (IPs), in partnership with the TESDA Davao City District Office, from December 8 to 12, 2025 at Barangay Baganihan, Marilog District, Davao City. The initiative aimed to empower Indigenous Cultural Communities and their identified IP organizations by providing basic sewing competencies and practical skills that can be applied for livelihood opportunities, while also supporting the preservation of traditional cultural designs.

A total of twenty-nine (29) participants from the Bagobo Tagabawa, Obu Manuvu, Matigsalug, and Ata tribes took part in the activity.

A culmination program was held on December 12, 2025, during which sewing kits donated by Therma South, Inc., were distributed to the trainees in recognition of their successful completion of the five-day training.

In the message of Peace 911 Acting Head Atty. Jonah Margarette F. Presto, delivered through her representative, the IP participants were congratulated for their dedication and perseverance throughout the training. The message emphasized that the activity helped open new opportunities, strengthen confidence, and establish a solid foundation for livelihood development and cultural expression.

Peace 911 expressed hope that the skills gained by the participants will guide them as they continue building their chosen livelihoods. The office likewise extended its gratitude to all partner agencies and stakeholders whose collaboration made the training possible.

This initiative program collaboration between the ICC-IP'S from Barangay Bantol, Barangay Suawan, Barangay Tamugan and HOST BARANGAY: Barangay Malamba.

This is our simple way of giving back the basic services needed by our community especially the Obu-Manuvu Tribe. This Program includes: MEDICAL MISSION AND LEGAL SERVICES.
