Just In - ​Personnel of the 71st Naval Group Reserve (NGR) proudly participated in the arrival and welcome ceremony for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) vessel, JS Ikazuchi, during its official port call at the Port of Sasa, Davao City on 30 May 2026.

​ This diplomatic visit highlights the growing defense cooperation and mutual goodwill between the Philippines and Japan, paving the way for continued collaboration toward maintaining peace, stability, and maritime security in the region.

​ Following the formal arrival ceremonies, the 71st NGR personnel were privileged to take part in an exclusive ship tour, fostering camaraderie and cultural exchange with their Japanese naval counterparts.
