Dear PVAO Pensioners and Beneficiaries,

In view of the Very Unhealthy PM2.5 air quality level reported in Davao City as of September 10, 2026, we advise our pensioners, especially our senior citizens and those who may be more vulnerable to the effects of poor air quality, to take precautionary measures and avoid unnecessary travel or prolonged outdoor exposure whenever possible.

For transactions or concerns that do not require your physical presence at the office, we encourage you to utilize our online and telephone channels first. Our personnel are ready to assist and provide guidance regarding your concerns.

DAVAO CITY AIR QUALITY UPDATE🌫️

As of 8AM, September 10, 2026, Davao City’s air quality reading showed PM10 at Fair while PM2.5 remained at Very Unhealthy levels.

PM2.5 consists of very fine particles that can travel deep into the lungs, making prolonged exposure a health concern. Residents, especially those with heart or respiratory conditions, are advised to limit unnecessary outdoor activity and wear a well-fitting mask when going outside.

In view thereof, the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office – Field Service Office (PVAO FSO) Davao shall be closed on the said date.

📢 ADVISORY | UPDATED PVAO VALIDATION SCHEDULE

The Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) reminds all pensioners to comply with the UPDATED validation schedule as of JUNE 2026 to ensure the continuous and uninterrupted release of pension benefits.

📌 Pensioners aged 70 years old and above are required to undergo validation TWICE A YEAR:
✅ First Validation – During the pensioner’s birth month
✅ Second Validation – Six (6) months after the birth month

📌 Pensioners aged 69 years old and below are required to undergo validation ONCE A YEAR during their birth month.

📌 SIMPLIFIED REQUIREMENTS FOR SURVIVING SPOUSE PENSIONERS
Surviving Spouse Pensioners are no longer required to submit a Notarized Affidavit or Notarized Pensioner’s Update Form (PUF) during online validation.

⚠️ Pensioners are required to complete their validation within the prescribed schedule. Failure to undergo validation on time may result in the temporary blocking of pension accounts and delays in the release of pension benefits.

🚨 EARTHQUAKE ADVISORY | WORK-FROM-HOME ARRANGEMENT – JUNE 9, 2026

In line with the announcement of the City Government of Davao regarding the adoption of a Work-From-Home (WFH) arrangement for government offices on June 9, 2026, the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office – Field Service Office XI (PVAO FSO XI) will likewise implement a Work-From-Home setup today June 9, 2026.

This measure is being observed in anticipation of possible aftershocks and while structural safety assessments are being conducted following the recent earthquake.

The Philippine Veterans Affairs Office Field Service Office (PVAO FSO) – Davao successfully conducted the Lakbay Serbisyo sa Bagong Pilipinas in coordination and partnership with the Municipality of Pantukan, PhilHealth Davao de Oro, Veterans Federation of the Philippines (VFP), and Port Side Grill House on 23 May 2026 at Port Side Grill House, Barangay Kingking, Pantukan, Davao de Oro.

A total of 40 participants composed of veterans, pensioners, and dependents attended the activity and availed various services and assistance from the office. The activity aimed to bring government services closer to veterans and their families while strengthening awareness regarding available programs and benefits.

During the activity, PVAO FSO Davao conducted information dissemination on PVAO services, entertained inquiries and concerns, and facilitated the validation and updating of pensioners’ records. Participants expressed appreciation for the accessible and convenient services provided through the Lakbay Serbisyo.

PhilHealth Davao de Oro, represented by Mr. Rolito H. Maestre, SIA I of the Local Health Insurance Office – Nabunturan, also conducted a discussion on the YAKAP Program. The session provided participants with important information regarding healthcare services, benefits, and registration procedures under the program.

The successful conduct of the activity was made possible through the strong collaboration and support of partner agencies and stakeholders, reflecting a shared commitment to delivering responsive public service and promoting the welfare of veterans and their dependents.

📢 ANNOUNCEMENT | LAKBAY SERBISYO SA BAGONG PILIPINAS IN PANTUKAN, DAVAO DE ORO ON 23 MAY 2026 (SATURDAY)

In coordination and partnership with the Municipality of Pantukan, Veterans Federation of the Philippines (VFP) Region XI and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office - Field Service Office Davao, will conduct Lakbay Serbisyo sa Bagong Pilipinas for the veterans, pensioners, and their qualified dependents in Davao de Oro.

📍 Venue: Port Side Grill House, Barangay Kingking, Pantukan, Davao de Oro

📅 Date: 23 May 2026 (Saturday)
⏰ Time: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

✨ Services to be provided:
✔️ Acceptance of applications for pension and non-pension benefits
✔️ Validation and updating of pensioner records and biometrics (according to schedule)
✔️ Issuance of ID application forms for non-PVAO pensioners
✔️ Acceptance of application for Veterans Hospitalization and Medical Care Program (VHMCP) reimbursement
✔️ Assistance on pension-related inquiries and other PVAO concerns
✔️ Updates/Information dissemination on PVAO programs and VFP programs
✔️ Information dissemination on YAKAP program by PhilHealth. YAKAP is a program aimed at providing eligible beneficiaries with access to medical services and health-related support.
✔️ PhilHealth Help Desk to assist the clients with their YAKAP and other related concerns.

👥 This one-day outreach activity is open to PVAO pensioners, veterans, surviving spouses, and qualified dependents from Davao de Oro.

📌 IMPORTANT NOTE:

FSO Davao will only validate pensioners whose birth month is May (1st Updating) and November and December (2nd Updating), except for those who are in blocked status and have no validation records from last year.

Please be informed that there will be no printing of the Unified ID during the activity. ID printing is processed by PVAO Manila only.

𝐏𝐕𝐀𝐎 𝐅𝐒𝐎 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐨 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟖𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐨
The Philippine Veterans Affairs Office Field Service Office Davao proudly participated in the 81st Liberation Day of Davao held on 03 May 2026 at the Davao Masonic Cemetery, Madapo, Davao City. The annual commemoration honors the bravery, sacrifice, and patriotism of Filipino veterans and heroes who fought for the liberation of Davao during World War II.

The ceremony began with solemn rites including the invocation, national anthem, oath of veterans, and the blessing of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. A wreath-laying and flower offering ceremony, highlighted by the offering of 81 flowers, symbolized remembrance and gratitude to the fallen heroes. The ceremonial gun salute further paid tribute to the courage and heroism of those who gave their lives in the name of freedom.

Representing PVAO, Ms. Remedios A. Josol, Head of PVAO Field Service Extension Office Davao City, delivered her impression message alongside distinguished representatives from various government agencies, veterans’ organizations, and stakeholders. The program also featured a heartfelt tribute to the oldest living veteran of Davao City, World War II Veteran Francisco P. Mallare, recognizing his invaluable contribution and legacy.

A representative of Davao City Mayor Hon. Sebastian Z. Duterte delivered the Mayor’s message, emphasizing the importance of remembering the past and honoring the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes. The commemoration served as a meaningful reminder of unity, patriotism, and the enduring spirit of the Filipino people.

With the theme “Pagpupugay sa mga Bayani, sa Pagpapalaya ng Dabaw,” the event reaffirmed the collective responsibility to preserve the legacy of courage and heroism for future generations.
