The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) XI formally entered into a significant collaboration with MABAMA Doctors Hospital in Bansalan, through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony held on June 8, 2026, at Municipal Hall, Poblacion Dos, Bansalan, Davao del Sur. The event aims to strengthen the delivery of Health and Medical Assistance Services for coconut farmers and their dependents, with the goal of expanding timely and quality medical care within the municipality of Bansalan and neighboring municipalities.
The ceremonial MOA signing was spearheaded by PCA Davao del Sur Division Chief I Florence T. Fernandez, alongside Acting Senior Agriculturist Anro P. Masaglang, Project Development Officer I Rosalinda M. Sario, and Coconut Development Officer Payne D. Magdadaro.
Notably present at the event were Hospital Administrator William Lowell C. Bragat, Hospital Social Services In-Charge Elvira A. Senarillos, and Hospital Admin Assistant Yule Bryner I. Tante of MABAMA Doctors Hospital. It was also graced by the presence and immense support of Municipal Mayor of Bansalan Edwin G. Reyes, together with Vice Mayor Atty. Kirby Villaraiz, Acting Municipal Agriculturist Uly Rose T. Lindong, and Municipal Tourism Officer Ike Madrazo.
This partnership is in accordance with the implementation of Health and Medical Program of PCA under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP). Furthermore, the beneficiaries of this program are eligible coconut farmers registered with the National Coconut Farmers Registry System (NCFRS), along with their qualified dependents. With that, they may now avail themselves of the following benefits at MABAMA Doctors Hospital:
₱ 40,000 – Confinement Bill Coverage
₱ 5,000 – Post-Confinement Need Support
₱ 5,000 – Outpatient Care Support
Through this meaningful collaboration, PCA ensures that the health and well-being of our coconut farmers remain a top priority, for a stronger, healthier, and more resilient coconut industry in the municipality of Bansalan – because a healthy farmer means a thriving harvest.
