What makes a farming story worth telling? Our young filmmakers from Davao del Sur State College (๐๐๐๐) โ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ ๐๐ฑ๐ญ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง explored that question during the two-day Film Laboratory and Critiquing Workshop on October 14โ15, 2026, representing DAR Davao del Sur in ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ค๐ฎ๐ฅ๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐ซ๐ฒ๐จ ๐๐๐๐.

Led by ๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ข๐จ, ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก๐๐ซ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐-๐๐๐โ๐ฌ ๐ฅ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ญ-๐ซ๐ฎ๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐, ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐จ ๐๐๐ฒ๐ (๐๐๐), and now a film director with ๐๐๐ง ๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐๐จ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐๐ฎ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ, the workshop immersed student filmmakers in the art of storytelling, creative filmmaking techniques, and the process of bringing powerful ideas to life on screen.
The highlight? Their ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ค๐ฎ๐ฅ๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐ซ๐ฒ๐จ ๐๐๐๐ film entry underwent critiquing, giving the students valuable feedback to refine their work, strengthen their storytelling, and bring the realities of Filipino farmers and Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) into sharper focus.
DAR XI Regional Director Joseph H. Orilla also encouraged the young creatives to be bold, authentic, and unafraid to tell stories that matter.
For these student filmmakers, the workshop was more than a learning experience. It was an opportunity to turn their creativity into a meaningful platform for the voices of our farmers.
