Congratulations to Dr. Dave Buenavista, one of our Commission on Higher Education(CHED) - Newton Agham PhD scholars, for earning his PhD in Conservation Biology at Bangor University!
During his three and a half years of stay in the University, he was able to publish three (3) peer-reviewed articles derived from his research and successfully defend his dissertation.
Dr. Buenavista is now back to his home institution, Central Mindanao University, where he plans to expand his research on the advancement of conservation science in the Philippines.
Again, congratulations! Your CHED family is proud of you!

Now that we are approaching Academic Year 2021-2022, the Commission on Higher Education and UniFAST get a multitude of inquiries on how to apply for the Tertiary Education Subsidy.
We would like to inform the public and our stakeholders that TES is a grant-in-aid program of the government that is being implemented by CHED and UniFAST through the higher education institutions (HEIs).
We hereby advise to exercise self-restraint and caution against individuals or groups claiming to be representatives of UniFAST. These entities will try to make an offer to facilitate the application of an interested student or promise to provide a guaranteed TES slot. Do not engage in any transaction requiring you to pay a certain amount because the application for TES is FREE.
Please be reminded that the TES follows a prioritization scheme and new applicants undergo the validation and verification process to qualify as a TES grantee. All state universities and colleges (SUCs), CHED-recognized local universities and colleges (LUCs), and private higher education institutions with an existing memorandum of agreement with the Commission and UniFAST are the only ones eligible to implement TES.
The call for TES application will open once the first semester of AY 2021-2022 starts. This will be announced on CHED and UniFAST websites at https://ched.gov.ph/ and http://unifast.gov.ph/ with the following social media accounts .gov, , .

CHED K to 12 Transition Program - Scholarship for Graduate Studies-Local (SGS-L) is hiring!
Join our team as a Senior Scholarship Program Officer - Project Technical Staff III.
Specific Tasks:
1. Acts as focal person for the Higher Education Institutions under the K to 12 Transition Program and CHED Regional Offices;
2. Acts as liaison to approved Delivering Higher Education Institutions (DHEIs), Sending Higher Education Institution (SHEIs), and external offices regarding issues and concerns on Scholarships for Graduate Studies-Local (SGS-L);
3. Evaluates and provides feedback on the submitted documents for the processing of tuition and fees, and honoraria payroll of the assigned DHEIs;
4. Processes and evaluate special request and cases (administrative and non-administrative) concerning scholars in preparation for the review and recommendation of the Technical Working Group (TWG);
5. Represents the unit during stakeholders assemblies, DHEI monitoring visits, and regional visits as assigned by the team lead;
6. Organizes events, monitoring visits, and meetings attended by concerned parties;
7. Drafts NTEs/Memoranda/CSWs for evaluation of the Team Lead; and
8. Supports the Communications Team for scholarship-related inquiries, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree
2. Two years of work experience
3. Eight hours of training
