While LDRRMO is known for responding to emergencies and disasters, its commitment extends far beyond emergency response. The office also values community-driven initiatives that promote safety, volunteerism, and the welfare of learners. The visit aimed to strengthen coordination, support, and collaboration for upcoming programs and initiatives that will further enhance disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery efforts.

This continued inter-agency partnership reflects a shared commitment to building a safer, more resilient, and better-prepared community.

The Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO), under the supervision of Mr. Al Jay P. Alviola, LDRRM Officer, through the MD-TODA (Municipality of Dumanjug – Traffic Operations and Development Authority), joined LTO Ronda and Dumanjug PNP in conducting a joint checkpoint operation in support of Oplan Headsafe and the municipality’s road safety campaign.

The operation focused on promoting the use of standard protective helmets, particularly full-face and half-face helmets, while reminding motorcycle riders to comply with traffic laws and safety regulations. Authorities also conducted inspections of driver's licenses, vehicle registrations, and other road safety requirements. A total of 69 individuals were apprehended during the operation.

Through strengthened enforcement and public awareness, LDRRMO-Traffic, LTO Ronda, and Dumanjug PNP continue to work together in building safer roads and encouraging responsible riding within the Municipality of Dumanjug.

🚚🌾 ON THE ROAD TO FOOD SECURITY: DUMANJUG PARTICIPATES IN FOODLANE ORIENTATION

The Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO) of Dumanjug, represented by Mr. John Joshua Jerold Lamela, participated in the Foodlane Project Orientation conducted by the Department of Agriculture (DA) on May 28–29, 2026 at Goldberry Hotel, Cebu City.

The Foodlane Project is a national initiative that ensures the efficient and uninterrupted transport of agricultural and fishery products from production areas to major markets. It strengthens inter-agency coordination, traffic management systems, and enforcement protocols to reduce delays and support a stable food supply chain.

The orientation provided participants with key insights on traffic management strategies, coordination mechanisms, and enforcement procedures essential for effective local implementation of the project.

The activity highlighted the importance of collaboration among LGUs, national agencies, and enforcement units in ensuring smooth logistics operations, minimizing post-harvest losses, and strengthening food security efforts.

As a committed partner in disaster risk reduction and public safety, the Dumanjug LDRRMO continues to support programs that enhance transport efficiency and resilient local governance systems.

Ang lima ka adlaw nga workshop nagtumong sa pagpalig-on sa kaandam ug kalig-on sa mga lokal nga komunidad batok sa mga kalamidad pinaagi sa maayong pagplano, pagtimbang sa mga risgo, ug panagtambayayong sa nagkalain-laing sektor. Ang mga partisipante miapil sa mga teknikal nga sesyon ug mga workshop aron mapalambo ang paghimo sa mas epektibo, inklusibo, ug angay nga mga plano alang sa disaster risk reduction ug management.

Samtang nagpadayon ang pag-atubang sa Dumanjug sa nagkalain-laing hulga sa kalamidad, ang pagpalambo sa kahibalo, kaandam, ug aktibong pagplano nagpabiling prayoridad sa lokal nga panggamhanan.

Pinaagi sa mga kalihokan sama niini, gipakita sa Dumanjug ang lig-on nga pasalig sa pagpanalipod sa kinabuhi, pag-amuma sa kaluwasan sa komunidad, ug pagtukod sa mas lig-on ug mas andam nga kaugmaon alang sa tanang Dumanjuganon.

Intensified Enforcement Starts June 2026

Municipality of Dumanjug Traffic Operation and Development Authority (MD-TODA) continuously supports the LTO Ronda under Oplan HEADSAFE, an intensive law enforcement operation aimed at apprehending violators of Republic Act 10054, the Motorcycle Helmet Act.

HEADS UP, RIDERS! HELMET ON, SAFETY FIRST.

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Ronda District Office will officially implement OPLAN HEADSAFE starting June 2026 across the municipalities in the southwestern part of Cebu Province.

This intensified enforcement campaign focuses on strict compliance with Republic Act 10054 (The Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009), which requires all motorcycle riders and back riders to wear standard protective helmets at all times while driving.

📌 Remember: NO HELMET, NO RIDE.
There will be no excuses and no exemptions when it comes to road safety.

⚠️ Penalties for violation:
• 1st offense: ₱1,500 fine
• 2nd offense: ₱3,000 fine
• 3rd offense: ₱5,000 fine
• 4th & succeeding offenses: ₱10,000 fine + confiscation/suspension of driver’s license
