Bringing together representatives from the Social, Economic, Environmental, Institutional, and Infrastructure sectors, the Sectoral Planning Workshop 2026 served as an important venue to discuss the needs, issues, and priorities of the community. This activity also focused on the prioritization of Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) for 2027 to ensure that proposed plans and initiatives are responsive to the current needs of the municipality and its people.

Sectoral planning is important because it helps identify priority concerns, improve coordination among sectors, and guide the local government in preparing programs and projects that will create meaningful and long-term benefits for the community. Through collaboration and active participation, every sector contributed valuable ideas and recommendations toward building a more inclusive, organized, and sustainable future for all.

On May 11, 2026, the Municipal Development Council successfully conducted its 1st Semester Meeting at Jurias Garden Hotel and Restaurant, attended by dedicated members of the Municipal Development Council, composed of all Punong Barangays and distinguished Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).

The gathering served as an important venue for discussing programs, plans, and development priorities aimed at strengthening public service and improving the welfare of the municipality. Through meaningful discussions, collaboration, and shared insights, the council reaffirmed its commitment to transparent governance, sustainable development, and responsive leadership for the benefit of the people.

The active participation and support of all MDC members reflect the unity and collective dedication of local leaders in achieving progress, addressing community concerns, and building a stronger and more empowered municipality. As members of the MDC, their responsibility does not end with the approval of programs and projects; they also play a vital role in ensuring the proper, quality, and beneficial implementation of these initiatives for the people of El Nido.
