📢 Mahalaga ang Tinig ng mga Senior Citizen

Mahigit 800 delegado mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa ang nagtipon ngayong araw sa Metropolitan Theater para sa National Consultation on Senior Citizens Policies, na pinangunahan ng National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) katuwang ang National Anti-Poverty Commission at ang Senior Citizens Sectoral Council.

Dumalo sa konsultasyon ang mga pinuno ng OSCA mula sa ibang mga siyudad at lalawigan, mga lider ng iba’t ibang senior citizen organizations, mga kinatawan mula sa akademya, at iba pang mga katuwang ng pamahalaan upang talakayin ang mga polisiya at programang makatutulong sa pagpapabuti ng buhay ng mga nakatatanda.

Sa isinagawang konsultasyon, ibinahagi ng mga kalahok ang kanilang mga mungkahi, karanasan, at rekomendasyon upang makatulong sa pagrerepaso at pagpapahusay ng mga batas at programang tumutugon sa pangangailangan ng mga senior citizen.

Bilang kinatawan ni Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, malugod na tinanggap ng Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) ang mga delegado at ibinahagi ang iba’t ibang programa ng Lungsod ng Maynila para sa kapakanan ng mga nakatatanda. Kabilang dito ang de-kalidad na serbisyong pangkalusugan, tulong pinansyal, mga programang panglibangan, mga oportunidad sa hanapbuhay, at iba pang serbisyong nagtataguyod ng kanilang kalusugan at pangkalahatang kagalingan. Patuloy na nananatiling prayoridad ng lungsod ang kapakanan ng bawat senior citizen.

Sa pagtatapos ng programa, isang mahalagang mensahe ang malinaw : mahalagang marinig ang tinig ng mga senior citizen. Ang kanilang mga pananaw at karanasan ay mahalagang gabay sa pagbuo ng mga polisiya at programang may direktang epekto sa kanilang buhay.

OSCA Manila joins NHA Caravan Community Service Drive in Tondo

The OSCA-Manila took part in the multi-service one-stop shop initiative known as the People’s Caravan, organized and led by the National Housing Authority (NHA) in partnership with the City of Manila and other national government agencies.

The activity was held at the Tondo Foreshore Project in Manila, Barangay 72.

As part of the caravan, a medical and dental mission was conducted alongside various public services. OSCA-Manila extended direct assistance to senior citizens in the area by facilitating senior citizen ID registration, addressing documentary concerns, and processing applications for milestone age cash gifts in accordance with the Expanded Senior Citizens Act.

The initiative highlights a proactive approach in bringing essential government services closer to communities, allowing senior citizens to access OSCA services without needing to travel to the main office.

📢 Earthquake Drill: Kahandaan ay Kaligtasan!

Nakiisa ang OSCA MANILA sa isinagawang Earthquake Drill na pinangasiwaan ng Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD) bilang paghahanda sa anumang sakuna. Ang tamang kaalaman, disiplina, at maagap na pagkilos ang susi sa kaligtasan ng bawat isa.

💚🏹 De La Salle (DLSU) Senior Health and Wellness Program lauded by OSCA-Manila

In support of promoting healthier and more active lifestyles among Manila’s senior citizens, De La Salle University Taft recently launched an ongoing health and wellness initiative featuring regular Zumba sessions and an upcoming medical mission as part of its community outreach program. The senior citizens of Barangay 710 were selected as the program’s beneficiaries.

DLSU Taft students and student leaders officially kicked off the initiative through an event dubbed “Indak Tungo Medivida,” highlighting the importance of physical activity in maintaining mobility, overall wellness, and mental sharpness among the elderly.

The program was warmly received by both the senior citizens and barangay officials, who expressed their full support through active participation and close coordination with the organizers.

The Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA)-Manila commended the initiative, noting that it complements the City Government’s continuing efforts to prioritize the health, welfare, and well-being of Manila’s senior citizens.

As the City of Manila remains steadfast in its commitment to senior welfare, partnerships such as these demonstrate the power of collaboration in ensuring that older persons continue to live healthy, active, and meaningful lives.

❤️ Love for Seniors: Manila Honors Two Centenarians

In heartfelt recognition of their remarkable lives and invaluable contributions to society, Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso awarded ₱100,000 each to two centenarians - Lolo Horacio Nable of Paco and Lola Angela Gonzales of Sampaloc.

The cash gift serves as a token of gratitude and respect for the elderly, whose wisdom and life experiences have helped shape the community through the years.

Mayor Isko emphasized that the health, welfare, and well-being of senior citizens remain among the city government’s highest priorities, describing them as the pillars upon which a strong and compassionate society is built.

As the Mayor tells elderly Manileños: “Kung wala kayo, wala kami.”
