Our team conducted a Benchmarking and Learning Visit to the Bacoor Social Hygiene Clinic and General Trias Social Hygiene Clinic to gain valuable insights into their facility setup, patient flow, service delivery, and operational practices. This learning visit is an important step in our journey toward establishing our own HIV Treatment Hub in General Mariano Alvarez (GMA), Cavite—with the goal of creating a safe, accessible, responsive, and client-centered space for people living with HIV. We are grateful to the teams of Bacoor and General Trias Social Hygiene Clinics for generously sharing their knowledge, experiences, and best practices.

From learning from established hubs to building one for our community—together, we move forward. 💙

The procurement of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) rapid diagnosis test kits may be awarded by the end of September, the Department of Health (DOH) said Monday.

DOH made the statement during the interpellation of Akbayan Party-list Representative Perci Cendaña, who flagged the reported delayed procurement of HIV testing kits.

The HIV rapid diagnosis test kit detects HIV antibodies or antigens in blood or oral fluid and provides results in 30 minutes or less.

HIV treatment can help people living with HIV achieve an undetectable viral load - meaning they do not transmit HIV to their sexual partners. People with a suppressed viral load have a near-zero risk of transmitting HIV.

In 2025, 30.4 million people living with HIV globally have a suppressed viral load. The target? 38 million by 2030.
