PRESS RELEASE: PSA SARANGANI HIGHLIGHTS CONTINUED GROWTH OF NATIONAL ID REGISTRATION AND AUTHENTICATION SERVICES

In celebration of International Identity Day on 16 September 2026, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Sarangani Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) highlights the continuing implementation and utilization of the National ID Program and National ID Authentication Services (NIDAS).

As of 31 August 2026, PSA-Sarangani has registered a total of 1,268,282 individuals across General Santos City and Sarangani Province:

📍 General Santos City: 689,079
📍 Sarangani Province: 579,203
TOTAL: 1,268,282

The National ID is available in physical card, paper, and Digital National ID formats, providing Filipinos with accessible and reliable means of establishing their identity.

Meanwhile, NIDAS continues to expand through the integration of government and private-sector systems, supporting secure identity verification for participating organizations or Relying Parties (RPs).

At the local level, PSA-Sarangani continues to conduct orientations and information activities with government offices and other stakeholders to promote awareness and utilization of the National ID and NIDAS.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Sarangani Provincial Statistical Office joined the Serbisyong Heneral by providing National ID registration, Updating Services, and related assistance to the community.

PSA Sarangani Brings National ID Services to Communities Through Grand Serbisyong Heneral

GENERAL SANTOS CITY, September 3, 2026 — The National ID team of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Sarangani joined the Grand Serbisyong Heneral today, bringing essential National ID services closer to residents of Dadiangas North, Dadiangas East, Dadiangas West, and Dadiangas South.

The team provided National ID Registration, National ID in Paper Form Issuance, National ID Updating, and Transaction Reference Number (TRN) Retrieval to residents who availed of the services during the activity.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Sarangani Provincial Statistical Office conducted a National ID Authentication Service (NIDAS) Orientation for personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) on 04 August 2026 at the BJMP-Male Dormitory, General Santos City, strengthening inter-agency collaboration toward secure, efficient, and reliable identity verification.

The orientation was attended by 12 BJMP personnel and two PSA representatives, who participated in discussions and demonstrations on the proper use of the National ID Authentication Service and the various National ID formats.

The activity provided BJMP personnel with a better understanding of how NIDAS can support government agencies in verifying the identity of individuals through the National ID System. The orientation covered the different authentication services, the proper acceptance and verification of National ID formats, and the importance of ensuring that identity verification is conducted through secure and authorized channels.

General Santos City — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Sarangani Provincial Statistical Office joined the Serbisyong Heneral activity conducted in Barangay Upper Labay, General Santos City on July 31, 2026, bringing National ID-related services closer to residents of the barangay.

Serbisyong Heneral is a service caravan that brings together various government agencies in a single venue to provide residents with access to basic government services and transactions.

During the activity, PSA Sarangani National ID team provided the following services: registration into the National ID System (NIDS), issuance of National ID in paper form for registrants whose IDs were ready for release; retrieval of Transaction Reference Number (TRN) and National ID Card Number (NIDCN) for residents who had lost or forgotten their registration details; and assistance in generating the Digital National ID for residents who requested a digital copy of their National ID.

Glan, Sarangani Province — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Sarangani Provincial Statistical Office joined the ELCAC Ronda Probinsya program spearheaded by Governor Rogelio D. Pacquiao, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Glan, for a Munisipyo sa Barangay activity held in Barangay Cablalan, Glan, Sarangani Province on July 31, 2026.

The activity brought together various government services directly to the residents of Barangay Cablalan, allowing them to access assistance without having to travel to the municipal or provincial center. As part of this multi-agency effort, the PSA Sarangani National ID team set up a service station offering the following:

• National ID Registration for residents who have not yet enrolled in the National ID System (NIDs);
• Issuance of National ID in paper form for registrants whose IDs are ready for release;
• Transaction Reference Number (TRN) or National ID Card Number (NIDCN) retrieval for those who have lost or forgotten their registration details; and
• Assistance in generating the Digital National ID for residents seeking a digital copy of their National ID for immediate use.
