This March, we celebrate National Women’s Month by honoring the strength, leadership, and resilience of every woman in nation-building. As we continue with the 2023–2028 theme, "𝙒𝙀 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙀𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙮," and the sub-theme “𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙮𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙨, 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙨!”, it’s important to know the laws that protect and empower women and the key pillars supporting women in professional spaces.

ALAM MO BA? | Ang unang batas sa Pilipinas na hayagang nagtaguyod ng karapatan ng kababaihan, partikular sa kanilang karapatang bumoto, ay ang Commonwealth Act No. 34 o ang “Women’s Suffrage Law of 1936”.

Ito ay hindi agarang isinabatas ngunit idinaos sa pamamagitan ng plebisito kung saan tatlong daang (300,000) kababaihan ang pumabor para sa kanilang karapatang bumoto at tumakbo sa pampublikong posisyon.

At di naglaon ay pinalawak at pinalalim ng Magna Carta of Women sa pagtitiyak ng isang istruktura na may pantay na pagtingin para sa oportunidad at proteksyon laban sa kahit na anong diskriminasyon.
