During the early year on 1940, Barangay Mabuhay was a remote place covered formerly within the area of Klinan 5 with neighboring barangays of Klinan 6 and Upper Klinan with an existing forest land inhabited by different species of birds and animals.
Settlers in this remote area of Klinan 5 can be counted on fingers with few houses as the place was surrounded by forest that brought the cold climate in the area.
The soil is sandy loam where residents engaged only on land cultivation for farming,
In the early 1940, Japanese – American war broke out, reasons that settlers fled from their homes until the time that the war was ended in 1945 and the settlers returned home on this place and started a new life struggle.
It was in 1968 that this remote area which part of the Klinan 5 became independent from its mother barrio where the newly barangay was created called Mabuhay.
Klinan 5 prior its independency as separate barangay called Mabuhay was once a passing through path of the members of the local dissidents (NPA rebel).
This remote area was part of the Klinan 5 was known for its troublesome guys and forms of notoriety which was normal for the local residents in the area.
But when this remote area was separated from its mother barangay Klinan 5 became newly created barangay called Mabuhay, the condition of the place had started a new horizon that it became progressively developed.
