On June 1, 2026, at about 11:28 AM, personnel of Police Station 6 conducted an Inspection and Awareness Campaign against Smuggled Ci******es in Barangay Bula, General Santos City, which resulted in the apprehension of one (1) male suspect identified only by his alias "Jun," 35 years old.
During the operation, the suspect was caught in possession and control of assorted suspected illegally smuggled ci******es which were found in plain view. Recovered and confiscated were:
• Three (3) packs of Cannon Menthol
• Eight (8) packs of Gajah Baru
• Six (6) packs of R and B
• Fourteen (14) packs of New Berlin
• Five (5) packs of Forth Menthol
The total estimated market value of the confiscated items amounted to PhP 3,080.50.
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights in a language known to and understood by him. Appropriate charges for Violation of Republic Act No. 10863 (Customs Modernization and Tariff Act), including relevant to***co importation regulations, are being prepared for filing through inquest proceedings.

Ang Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 ay ginawa upang protektahan ang mga babae at bata laban sa anumang uri ng abuso mapa physical, emptional, psychological, sexual or financial kahit ano pa man ang iyong status, label o sitwasyon sa buhay.
Ang VAWC ay batas na ginawa para sa protection, kaligtasan at hustisya. Hindi ito dapat gamitin bilang leverage para sa personal na paghihiganti, pananakot, manipulation, harassment o maling paratang laban sa ibang tao na mas ikakapahamak.
Ang korte pa rin ang tumitingin at nag-aassess ng buong timeline, evidence, consistency ng statements, mga witnesses at kabuuang sitwasyon ng magkabilang panig bago maglabas ng desisyon o hatol.
At kung ikaw ay totoong biktima ng anumang uri ng VAWC, wag matakot humingi ng tulong at legal na proteksyon.
Maaari kang lumapit sa police, DSWD, PAO, women’s desk o kumonsulta sa licensed private lawyer para sa tamang legal assistance at guidance.
