Maritime Security Law Enforcement Group Southern Mindanao

In line with the 11th Founding Anniversary of the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC), the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Group – Southern Mindanao (MARSLEG-SM) successfully spearheaded a meaningful mangrove planting initiative as part of the pre- anniversary activities of the command.

Held aboard the QBIT's Dole Compound, Mangrove Forest Area, Barangay Calumpang, General Santos City, this event saw active participation from personnel of the Coast Guard District Southern Mindanao.

Through this collaborative effort, MARSLEG-SM continues its commitment to environmental protection, promoting the importance of mangrove ecosystems in coastal conservation. This activity not only contributes to preserving biodiversity but also enhances coastal resilience, reinforcing the role of the PCG.

Look: In accordance with COMELEC Resolution No. 11056, the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Group – Southern Mindanao (MARSLEG-SM), together with Coast Guard District Southern Mindanao (CGDSM personnel, strengthened its security presence across Southern Mindanao during the recent 2025 National and Local Elections. Their visible presence in various schools designated as polling centers played a crucial role in ensuring the safety of voters, electoral staff, and the general public.

This joint and coordinated effort is a testament to the Philippine Coast Guard’s commitment to safeguarding democratic processes and maintaining a peaceful and secure environment during the election period.

As part of the ongoing efforts under OPLAN BYAHENG AYOS: Semana Santa and Summer Vacation 2025, Maritime Security Law Enforcment Group-Southern Mindanao (MARSLEG-SM), in collaboration with Coast Guard District Southern Mindanao personnel (CGDSM) has bolstered its security operations across the Southern Mindanao Region.

These efforts include the intensification of coastal patrols along the shorelines of different beach resorts, as well as the conduct of random paneling operations at major ports and bus terminals with the objective to ensure the safety and well-being of the public during the observance of Holy Week and the summer vacation season. This coordinated operation reflects the Philippine Coast Guard’s dedication in upholding public safety and maintaining a secure environment throughout the region.
