𝐊𝐔𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐀, 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐋𝐒?

Ang usapin ng mental health ay hindi dapat ituring na taboo o isang bagay na dapat itago. Mas kailangan natin itong pag-usapan nang bukas, may pag-unawa, at walang panghuhusga. Katulad ng ating pisikal na kalusugan, mahalaga rin ang ating kalusugang pangkaisipan. Walang dapat ikahiya sa paghingi ng tulong at pag-amin na may mabigat tayong dinadala.

Sa ika-37 na Regular na Sesyon ng Sangguniang Panlungsod ngayong June 2, 2026, inihain natin bilang may-akda ang panukalang Mental Health Code of General Santos City. Ang panukalang ordinansa ay naaprubahan sa first reading at naipasa na sa kaukulang komite para sa masusing pagtalakay.

Layunin ng panukalang ito na magtatag ng isang komprehensibo at makataong sistema ng mental health care para sa lahat ng Generals.

Kabilang sa mga pangunahing probisyon nito ang:

🌸Paglikha ng General Santos City Mental Health Council upang pangunahan at iugnay ang lahat ng mental health initiatives ng lungsod;

🌸 Pagbuo ng Mental Health Department at Mental Health Facility sa Dr. Jorge P. Royeca City Hospital;

🌸 Pagtatatag ng Mental Wellness Access Hubs sa bawat distrito upang magbigay ng counseling, assessment, psychological first aid, gamot, at referral services;

🌸 Pagkakaroon ng 24/7 Mental Health-Line o hotline para sa crisis intervention, su***de prevention, at agarang tulong;

🌸 Paglikha ng Mental Health Half-Way Home para sa mga indibidwal na nangangailangan ng suporta habang muling bumabalik sa komunidad;

🌸 Pagpapalakas ng mental health programs sa mga paaralan, barangay, workplaces, at mga tanggapan ng pamahalaan; at

🌸 Mas matibay na proteksyon laban sa stigma, diskriminasyon, bullying, at paglabag sa privacy ng mga mental health service users.

Nawa'y patuloy nating alagaan ang isa't isa.

At huwag nating kalimutang kumustahin ang ating mga mahal sa buhay.

Noong Mayo 29, 2026, nakiisa ang mga kawani ng Sangguniang Panlungsod sa Coastal Clean-Up Drive at Mangrove Planting Activity sa Mangrove Eco-Park, Purok Sharif Mucsin, Barangay Baluan.

Sa simpleng paglahok at sama-samang pagkilos, naipapakita natin na ang pangangalaga sa kalikasan ay responsibilidad ng bawat isa. Ang bawat basurang napulot at bawat punlang naitanim ay ambag sa mas matatag at mas maunlad na kinabukasan para sa ating lungsod.

Maraming salamat sa lahat ng nakiisa at naglaan ng oras para sa ating kalikasan.

The Public Service Affairs Unit of the Office of the Vice Mayor Atty. Jose Edmar J. Yumang spent our Monday morning at San Isidro High School of Agri-Fishery for another LAKBAY TULONG Medical Mission. From medical and legal consultations, family planning services, HIV and cervical cancer screening, nourishment programs, and even free haircuts, it was a productive and meaningful day of service for our community.

Thank you to all our doctors, nurses, volunteers, partners, and everyone who made today's outreach possible. Nothing beats seeing people leave with smiles, assistance, and peace of mind. 🫶

On May 30, 2026, Le Culinaire Cooking Studio opens its doors to Generals, led by Chef Bambi Lim, offering Generals classes on different world cuisines as well as baking and pastries. The grand opening was attended by Atty. Nicole Joyce Mangaoang and Mr. Reynald John Jamerlan, on behalf of City Vice Mayor, Atty. Jose Edmar J. Yumang. In her speech, Atty. Mangaoang expressed the Vice Mayor’s all-out support to local businesses in the city, most especially in the world of culinary arts.

Le Culinaire is located at 2nd floor, Oyson Arcade, Cabel St., Lagao, General Santos City and will start its classes on June 20, 2026.
