‎Anchored on this year's theme, "𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧: 𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐚𝐲𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐊𝐚𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧," Brigada Eskwela 2026 officially commenced on June 2, 2026, with a vibrant Kick-Off Parade led by our School Principal, Mr. Patricio A. Cruzada, together with the Drum and Lyre students. Learners, teachers, parents, stakeholders, the DLC of Mary Cris Elementary Schoool and our school's DLC joined the parade in showing unity and support for the school community.

‎Following the parade, the Opening Program formally launched this year's Brigada Eskwela activities. Inspiring messages were shared by Mr. Patricio A. Cruzada, Focal Person Ma'am Sisa Ebillo, and other stakeholders, highlighting the importance of volunteerism, collaboration, and bayanihan in creating a safe and learner-friendly environment.

LOOK | Cruzada leads North High faculty meeting, sets readiness priorities

Newly installed Principal Mr. Patricio H. Cruzada outlined key readiness priorities for School Year (SY) 2026–2027 during a faculty meeting of teaching and non-teaching personnel held at the Junction Hall of DepEd Tayo-Luis Y. Ferrer, Jr. North NHS General Trias City (LYFJNNHS) on Monday, May 25.

The meeting marked a major leadership transition following the tenure of former principal Dr. Naneth S. Panganiban - Salvador and served as a critical step in aligning school operations with upcoming academic reforms and ensuring institutional preparedness.

Central to the discussion were administrative and instructional concerns, including classroom readiness, sectioning, scheduling, and teaching load assignments, all aimed at ensuring a smooth and organized opening of classes.

Key programs and policy updates were also presented, such as the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP), Brigada Eskwela 2026, and the implementation of the Three-Term School Calendar under DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2026.

Cruzada stressed that while operational readiness is essential, maintaining a strong institutional culture remains equally important, particularly in fostering respect within the workplace. “Respect must be evident at all times – in our words, actions, and decisions, especially among colleagues and fellow educators,” Cruzada said.

He noted that positive professional relationships contribute directly to a more effective and learner-centered school environment. “We must create a climate where every individual feels valued. Respect is not optional – it is essential to a functional and progressive school,” he added.

The School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP), institutionalized under Republic Act No. 11037, was revisited as part of the school’s continued efforts to support learner health and address malnutrition.

Preparations for Brigada Eskwela 2026, scheduled from June 1 to 5, were also outlined following its national kickoff on May 29 in Cabadbaran City, CARAGA, under the theme “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman.” The initiative calls for strengthened collaboration among stakeholders to prepare safe, clean, and functional learning spaces before the opening of classes.

Faculty members were likewise oriented on the shift to a Three-Term School Calendar, designed to provide longer instructional time, improve assessment scheduling, and reduce workload pressure on teachers. “This system is designed to give us more time to teach effectively and less pressure in managing overlapping tasks,” Cruzada explained.

Teachers present recognized the importance of early preparation and coordination. English teacher Ms. Margie L. Rodriguez shared that the meeting clarified immediate priorities, particularly in organizing sections, schedules, and classrooms.

Meanwhile, TLE teacher Mr. Ryan Edel S. Abueg emphasized the value of teamwork and communication in addressing concerns ahead of time. “With proper planning and cooperation, we can start the school year organized and prepared,” Abueg said.

The meeting concluded with a unified commitment from school personnel to complete preparations promptly and work collaboratively as North High moves forward under new leadership toward a more structured, efficient, and learner-centered SY 2026–2027.
