Last June 4, 2026, the Bahay Pag-asa Youth Center was honored to receive two personal computers donated by the One Meralco Foundation through the efforts of Meralco Rosario.

These computer units will greatly enhance the center’s administrative operations and serve as valuable educational tools for the children under our care, supporting their learning and school-related activities.

The donation was formally received by Ms. Rachel Mae Sobrevega Nunal-Garcia, Center Head of Bahay Pag-asa Youth Center, together with Ms. Mary Ann, Psychometrician, and Ms. Bennie Cubol Delos Reyes, Administrative Officer of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of General Trias.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the One Meralco Foundation for selecting Bahay Pag-asa Youth Center as one of the beneficiaries of this meaningful initiative. Your generosity and commitment to empowering communities will make a lasting impact on the lives of our children by providing them with greater opportunities for education, learning, and personal growth.

🏅🏆 **Bahay Pag-asa Youth Center Sports Fest 2026** 🏀🏐 🏸 🏓 ♟️🤼 🎽

The Sports Fest 2026 of Bahay Pag-asa Youth Center will officially commence this Monday.

With this year’s theme:
**“Kampeon sa Ugali, Kampeon sa Pagkakapatiran”**

This activity highlights not only the residents’ strength and skills in sports, board games and larong pinoy, but more importantly, the values of respect, discipline, teamwork, and unity. It also aims to strengthen camaraderie and promote positive character development among the youth.

Bahay Pag-asa (BPA) General Trias City has officially completed the Pilot Testing Implementation of the Localized Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) Assessment Tool—an important initiative of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC) aimed at establishing a standardized and localized assessment tool for all Bahay Pag-asa (BPA) facilities.

From November 17–19, 2025, our team was invited to participate in the Evaluation Workshop on the Pilot Testing of the CANS Tool held at Ardenhills Suite, Quezon City. Our hearts are filled with joy and gratitude for the commendations we received during the presentation of our overall pilot-testing experience, the challenges we faced, the lessons we learned, and the insights we shared on how the tool can significantly enhance the new Case Study Report Writing process—ultimately strengthening intervention planning for the best interest of the children under BPA care.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all MDT Members for their hard work and commitment throughout this journey. Under the supervision of our Center Head, Ma’am Rachel, we deeply recognize the efforts of our dedicated social workers, psychometrician, and houseparents for their knowledge, teamwork, and diligence in carrying out the pilot testing. We also acknowledge the participants who played a vital role in its success as well as Barangay San Francisco for providing service during the home visits.

Our gratitude also goes to our CSWDO leadership—Department Head Ma’am Rebecca, Assistant Department Head Ma’am Emie, and Unit Head Ma’am Leny—for their continuous support and guidance to our social workers.

Finally, thank you, JJWC, for bringing us into this meaningful journey and for imparting valuable knowledge on the importance of standardizing this assessment tool, which when finalized, will soon be rolled out across all Bahay Pag-asa facilities nationwide. ❤️

🎃 Is it a Trick or Treat? 🎃

Bahay Pag-Asa Youth Center celebrated Halloween on October 30, 2025, with a fun-filled program that brought smiles and laughter to everyone. The staff organized various activities where the residents enjoyed a day of creativity, games, and reflection.

One of the highlights was the Spooky Mask Contest, where residents crafted their own handmade masks, proudly showcased them, and received treats prepared by the BPYC staff. Everyone also had a great time taking photos together to capture the memorable moment.

The program began with a prayer by a resident, followed by opening remarks from the social worker, Halloween trivia shared by the activity coordinator, and several fun games. Before snacks were served, the winners of the mask contest were announced and awarded.

To conclude the celebration, the residents gathered around a bonfire for candle lighting, reflection, and prayer. Afterwards, they enjoyed a mini jam session, singing “Batang-Bata Ka Pa” and “Panahon Na Naman.” The event ended on a heartfelt note with a worship song, “Pusong Dalisay,” and a prayer led by Houseparent Tatay Rey.

It was truly a day of fun, fellowship, and reflection — reminding everyone that beyond the spooky masks and laughter, the spirit of togetherness shines the brightest. 🕯️✨
