🌟 Launching of Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week 2025 🌟
Theme: “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Kalusugan ay Pinapahalagahan, Droga ay Inaayawan.”

Today, we officially open the week-long celebration of DAPC Week 2025, reinforcing the National Drug Education Program’s mission to strengthen public awareness on drug abuse prevention. 💪🇵🇭

Throughout the week, participants will engage in meaningful lectures and interactive discussions on:

This powerful initiative is spearheaded by Hon. Victor James B. Yap, Sr., Municipal Mayor through the united efforts of LGU Glan, MADAC, DepEd, PNP, and the Police Maritime Group, Barangay Council of Calpidong and Glan-Padidu—working hand in hand for a healthier, safer, and drug-free community.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Sarangani–General Santos Provincial Office, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Glan and other law enforcement agencies, held a Drug Awareness Seminar and Dialogue with Fisherfolk on August 6 in Barangay Gumasa and August 11 in Barangay Poblacion, Glan, Sarangani Province.

The activity aimed to raise awareness among fisherfolk—recognized as vital stakeholders in safeguarding coastal areas—about the threats posed by illegal drugs and the importance of proactive vigilance, especially in preventing coastal zones from being used as entry points for illicit substances. The seminar also provided clear guidance on the “dos and don’ts” when encountering suspicious activities while at sea.

Resource speakers included representatives from PDEA SarGen, Philippine Coast Guard, Police Maritime Group, PDEA K9 Unit Glan, PNP, BFAR, MADAC–LGU Glan, and the Barangay Councils of Gumasa and Poblacion.
This event was made possible with the unwavering support of the Local Government Unit of Glan, led by Hon. Victor James B. Yap, Sr., who reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to building a safe, drug-free, and resilient coastal community.
