The activity dubbed Orientation on the Legal and Practical Aspects of Simulation of Birth Rectification, Adoption Law, and Foster Care for BCPC held last September 24 was organized by the Local Government Unit of Balete through its Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, in partnership with RACCO) 6.

The Regional Alternative Child Care Office (RACCO) 6, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Balete through its Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, conducted an orientation on adoption and alternative child care laws in Balete town in Aklan last September 24.

The activity dubbed Orientation on the Legal and Practical Aspects of Simulation of Birth Rectification, Adoption Law, and Foster Care gathered Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) in the municipality.

RACCO 6 Social Workers Ms. Airln Jenm Barro, Ms. Jewel Rose Galila, and Mr. Yasser Maminggen served as resource persons during the activity.

They oriented the participants on the salient points of RA 11642 or the Domestic Administrative Adoption and Alternative Child Care Act, RA 11222 or the Simulated Birth Rectification Act, and RA 10165 of the Foster Care Act. They were likewise oriented on the legal process of adoption and foster care.💙❤️💛

After a thorough deliberation, another set of prospective adoptive and foster parents were presented and matched with children waiting for a home to call their own during the 10th Regional Matching Conference of RACCO 6 held last September 23.

Thanks to our Regional Child Placement Committee (RCPC) and RACCO 6 RMC Secretariat for making these matches possible. ✨

Because every child deserves a loving family and a place to belong. 🏡💙

DSWD Chief, Isinulong ang Family-Based Care sa ASEAN High-Level Forum 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Hindi nagtatapos sa institutional care ang responsibilidad sa mga batang nangangailangan ng proteksyon at pangangalaga. Ito ang binigyang-diin ni DSWD Secretary REX Gatchalian sa kanyang keynote message sa ASEAN High-Level Forum on Child Care Reform nitong Huwebes (Setyembre 24) sa Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) sa Pasay City.

Binigyang-diin ng Kalihim na mas napauunlad ang potensyal ng mga bata kapag sila ay lumalaki sa isang mapagkalingang pamilya at suportadong kapaligiran. Isinagawa ang dalawang araw na forum sa pangunguna ng DSWD, katuwang ang National Authority for Child Care (NACC) at United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), na dinaluhan ng mga kinatawan mula sa mga ASEAN member states para palakasin ang family care at child protection systems sa buong rehiyon.

Sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalitan ng mga karanasan, polisiya at magagandang gawi sa child care reform, layunin ng forum na maisulong ang mga sistemang inuuna ang kapakanan ng kabataan at nagbibigay sa kanila ng pagkakataong lumaki sa isang ligtas, mapag-aruga at permanenteng pamilya. (DIMA)
