Children in street situations are rights-holders—
they deserve protection, dignity, and fair treatment.
They must not be criminalized for survival,
but supported through care, protection, and second chances.

Stop harmful practices.
Ensure due process.
Promote diversion and rehabilitation.
Justice for children is a shared responsibility.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) – Jaro I District successfully conducted an Orientation on the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC), Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Plan (CBJIP), and Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) to the different barangays of Jaro I District.

This orientation aimed to strengthen the capacity of barangay officials in implementing child protection programs, developing effective juvenile intervention plans, and ensuring compliance with standards for child-friendly governance.

The Office extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Cindy Joy D. Blasurca, LGOO III of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Iloilo City, for sharing her expertise and valuable insights during the orientation. Her insights have significantly enhanced the knowledge and capacity of barangay officials, empowering them to effectively carry out their roles in promoting and safeguarding the rights and welfare of children in their respective communities.

Likewise, heartfelt thanks are extended to Barangay M.H. Del Pilar, Jaro Hon. Larry S. Palomo, for providing the venue; to Sir Arjay Biña for the provision of tables and chairs; and to Hon. Rodel C. Mamon, Jaro I ABC President, for the provision of snacks, all of which contributed to the successful conduct of the activity.

Para mapadayon kag mapa-boost ang aton Child-Friendly City status, nagpresent ang ICCPC sang 1st Quarter accomplishments kag gin-share ang Approved 2026 Work and Financial Plan for endorsement upod ang requests para sa reconstitution sang EO 49 kag issuance sang EO for ICCPC TWG.

Gin-discuss man ang upcoming activities nga nagalakip sang Recognition and Moving Up sang ECCD Learners, delivery sang supplementary feeding goods funded by DSWD, status sang Sustainable Feeding Program sang City Government, Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit, ProtecTEEN Program, Music and Movement Workshop para sa Day Care kag RISEAble Teachers, kag capability building para sa 60 ka Child Development Workers sa formulation sang Center Improvement Plan.

Gin-request nila ang separate account para sa ICCPC with the City Accountant para mas hapos kag efficient ang implementation sang mga programs.

Happy gid kita nga makita ang dedikasyon sang ICCPC sa paghatag sang maayo nga serbisyo kag suporta para sa tanan nga kabataang Ilonggo sa aton syudad.

Kinikilala ng batas na ang lahat, anuman ang kasarian at pagkakakilanlan, ay may karapatan sa pagkakapantay-pantay, seguridad, at kaligtasan hindi lamang sa mga pribadong lugar kundi pati sa lansangan, public spaces, online platforms, lugar ng pinagtatrabahuhan, at paaralan.

Ipinagbabawal sa ilalim ng Safe Spaces Act ang iba’t ibang anyo ng gender-based sexual harassment tulad ng catcalling, mapanirang salita, malaswang biro o komento, stalking, malisyosong tingin at kilos, at iba pang hindi kanais-nais na kilos na lumalabag sa dignidad ng isang tao.

LOOK: Philippine Youth Leader Drives Child Protection Dialogue at ILO Global Summit

MARRAKECH, MOROCCO — Mr. John Dave Dataro, ICCPC Child Representative representing the Philippines’ RSCWC Region 6, served as a key panelist at the 6th Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour (February 11–13, 2026). Hosted by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Kingdom of Morocco, the summit convened advocates from 180 countries to accelerate the eradication of child exploitation.

Key Highlights:

Regional Leadership: Dataro provided critical Southeast Asian perspectives, advocating for localized, culturally informed protection strategies and collaborative prevention models.

Global Urgency: With 138 million children still in child labor globally, the conference underscored the necessity of robust social protection and universal education.

Call to Action: The summit concluded with the endorsement of the Global Framework for Action Against Child Labour, reinforcing commitments to achieve SDG Target 8.7.

Dataro’s participation marks a milestone for Philippine advocacy, ensuring that the unique challenges of Southeast Asian children remain a priority in the global policy framework.

Iloilo City was recognized as one of the Top 4 Child-Friendly Highly Urbanized Cities in the Philippines at the 2025 Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities, held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City on December 22, 2025.

This prestigious recognition underscored the city’s sustained efforts in promoting and protecting the rights and well-being of children, as it garnered two notable honors: Regional Winner and National Finalist at the national level.

RISING SOCIAL SERVICES | Children's Congress cm Children's Forum

The Iloilo City Council for the Protection of Children successfully convened a Children's Congress cm Children's Forum as part of of the National Children's Month Celebration. This Activity was participated by child representatives from different barangays in Iloilo City.

The Key Highlights of the activity:
•UNCRC Empowerment: Participants engaged in an interactive discussion on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). The session empowered the youth to understand their fundamental rights to survival, protection, development, and participation.

•Issue Mapping Workshop: A hands-on workshop where child representatives identified and mapped out different issues in home, school, community and cyber space.

• Pasidungog on a top 5 model barangay , honoring their exemplary commitment during the Presidential Award for Child Friendly Municipalities and Cities (PACFMC) validation.

Ini nga aktibidad ang nagapakita sa aton padayon nga misyon kag deikasyon sa pag protekta, pagsuporta, pagpalangga kag paghatag sang oportunidad sa mga kabataan nga maipahayag kag pamatian ang ila tingog.
