07 March 2026- In line with the celebration of the 129th Founding Anniversary of the Philippine Army, the 6th Forward Service Support Unit, Support Command, Philippine Army lead by CPT FATIMA MAE E FRANCISCO (OS) PA, Operations Officer joined the Army Cares Mangrove Planting and Coastal Clean-up Activity held at Barangay Gua-an, Leganes, Iloilo in partnership with 3CMOBn, CMOR, PA headed by LTC RICARDO C VILLARUEL III INF (GSC) PA, Leganes Integrated Katunggan Ecopark (LIKE), Local Government Units (LGUโs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOโs) and various schools in Iloilo City.
The joint mangrove planting activity officially commenced at around 0700H with approximately 250 participants working together to plant 500 seedlings along the coastal area of the ecopark.
The activity highlights the collective commitment of participating organizations to support the governmentโs campaign against climate change through environmental protection and coastal rehabilitation initiatives. Through active participation in mangrove planting and coastal clean-up efforts, the involved stakeholders aim to strengthen coastal ecosystems, promote environmental awareness, and encourage community participation in preserving natural resources.
The participation of 6FSSU personnel in this meaningful endeavor demonstrates the continuing commitment to nation-building by supporting environmental protection and strengthening partnerships with local stakeholders.

02 March 2026- The 6th Forward Service Support Unit, Support Command, Philippine Army, participated in the simultaneous flag raising and kick-off ceremony of National Womenโs Month Celebration (NWMC) 2026 with other military units and government agencies nationwide in formally launching the month-long celebration.
The activity marked the official opening of the celebration on the theme โWomen and Everyone (WE) for Gender Equality and Inclusive Societyโ, emphasizing that the pursuit of equality is a shared responsibility that calls for the collective commitment of men and women. The observance highlights the collective responsibility of all sectors to advance gender equality and foster an inclusive environment where women and girls can fully realize their rights and potential.
During the program, LTC ROBINSON M MENDOZA OS (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of this unit, read the messages of the Chief of Staff, AFP (CSAFP) and Commanding General, PA (CGPA). Both leaders highlighted that this month is a recognition of the invaluable contributions of Filipino women in uniform and a reminder that gender equality is not solely a womenโs concern alone, it is a shared responsibility that requires the active participation of men within the organization.
Through its participation in the simultaneous kick-off ceremony, 6FSSU reaffirms its unwavering commitment to support policies and programs that advance gender equality, empower women across all ranks and roles, and strengthen an inclusive organizational culture.

01 March 2026 - In support of the Fire Prevention Month celebration with a theme โSa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa,โ personnel of this unit, headed by LTC ROBINSON M MENDOZA OS (GSC) PA, actively participated in the Fun Run organized by the Iloilo City Fire Station of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Region 6, reinforcing the shared responsibility of safeguarding communities against fire hazards.
The activity gathered uniformed organizations and community stakeholders, fostering camaraderie and inter-agency cooperation in support of public safety advocacy. More than a test of endurance, the activity symbolized collective action, emphasizing that fire prevention is a responsibility that requires cooperation, vigilance, and sustained community engagement.
Demonstrating exceptional endurance and competitive spirit, SSg Jean B Legada (QMS) PA and PFC Ken Hariette L Delfin (INF) PA secured placements in the said activity that brings pride and distinction to this unit. Their achievement reflects the discipline, resilience, and commitment to excellence that define 6FSSU personnel both in operational duties and extracurricular engagements.

On 14 January 2026, the 6TH FORWARD SERVICE SUPPORT UNIT, SPTCOM, PA was recognized for service Excellence in an awarding ceremony during the Support Command, Philippine Armyโs Year-End Command Conference CY2025 held at Headquarters Support Command, Philippine Army, Camp Servillano Aquino, San Miguel, Tarlac City. The Plaque of Recognition was presented by MGEN FLORANTE P SISON PA, Commander, Support Command and was received by LTC ROBINSON M MENDOZA OS (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, 6FSSU.
The Unit was commended for its high level of readiness, adherence to core military values and discipline, and strict compliance to established systems and processes as manifested by its Excellent Rating of 96.77% during the Annual General Inspection for CY 2025.
The Excellent rating reflects the collective efforts of Officers, Enlisted Personnel, and Civilian Human Resource (CHR) who consistently uphold a high standard of excellence and professionalism in the performance of their respective duties. It also underscores the Unitโs strong leadership, effective coordination, and continuous emphasis on improvement and accountability.
Hence, excellence is a journey defined by purpose, perseverance, and principle. It is not measured solely by awards, but by the discipline behind the effort, the character displayed along the way, and the positive difference that makes effective contributions toward sustained organizational success.

Their ranks were donned by LIEUTENANT COLONEL ROBINSON M MENDOZA, Commanding Officer, 6FSSU, SPTCOM, PA. LIEUTENANT COLONEL MENDOZA conveys his warm congratulations to the personnel for their well- deserved promotion. โPromotion isnโt just adding a stripe in your insignia and increasing your salary, but an emblem of higher duties and responsibilities. A renewed commitment to serve and protect the Filipino people through uplifting integrity and ensuring readiness are highly expected of you,โ LIEUTENANT COLONEL MENDOZA says. โYour rank indicates basic proficiency and experience. Serve with distinct pride and humilityโ, he added.
The five (5) personnel were promoted to the rank of Private First Class and are performing logistics functions. Their contribution to the unit in providing Combat Service Support to 3ID units are remarkably incomparable.

Commander Support Command, Philippine Army Presides over the Change of Command Ceremony
The 6th Forward Service Support Command (6FSSU), Philippine Army welcomed its new Commanding Officer in a Change of Command Ceremony presided by the guest of honor, Major General Rogelio D. Ulanday, Commander Support Command of the Philippine Army, on September 12, 2025 held at the Headquarters 6FSSU, Camp Martin Delgado, Iloilo City.
Lieutenant Colonel Rowel M Maala (OS) GSC PA, relinquished command to Lieutenant Colonel Robison M Mendoza (OS) GSC PA, the newly designated Commander of the Team Tagapatigayon, both from the same class of OCC 25 "PILING-LAHI" Class of 2004. Lieutenant Colonel Maala will also assume Command of the 1st Armament and Ammunition Battalion of the 1st Logistics Support Group, Support Command, Phil Army. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Mendoza served as the Commander of the Transportation Battalion of the 1LSG, SPTCOM, PA before accepting the challenge to lead the Team Tagapatigayon.
Major General Rogelio D. Ulanday PA, Commander Support Command, Philippine Army, expressed appreciation to Lieutenant Colonel Maala for steering 6FSSU to greater heights as manifested by its transformative journey in pursuit of service excellence. Moreover, he congratulated Lieutenant Colonel Mendoza on his new designation as the newly installed Commanding Officer and entrusted him his full confidence that he will be able to continue current thrusts of the unit in support of the Philippine Armyโs mission.

Camp Delgado, Iloilo City - LTGEN ROY M GALIDO PA, Commanding General, Philippine Army conferred the CGPAโs KALASAG Streamer award to 6th Forward Service Support Unit of the Army Support Command during the celebration of the 51st Founding Anniversary of the 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division, Philippine Army on May 30, 2025.
The CGPAโs KALASAG Streamer Award is awarded to Philippine Army units that were directly involved in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations during calamities that resulted in lives saved and/ or cadaver retrieved.
Through this award, the 6FSSUโs efforts for the search, rescue, and retrieval operations conducted in Negros Island Region after the onslaught of the phreatic eruption of Mt. Kanlaon volcano were recognized. The award, which was received by LTC ROWEL M MAALA PA, Commanding Officer of this unit, embodies the selfless dedication and hard work of the Tagapatigayon troopers in extending support and assistance to the supported units and other agencies. Notably, the unit also provided transportation and manpower assistance to the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) Region 6 in transporting the much- needed commodities in the affected residence in Negros Island Region.
LTC MAALA is beyond grateful to LTGEN GALIDO for recognizing the efforts of 6FSSU and expresses his utmost gratitude to the whole Philippine Army and stakeholders for the continued trust to this unit - - - the Army provider in Western Visayas.

Spearhead Division Commander Visits the Home of Tagapatigayon Troopers
Camp Delgado, Iloilo City โ In a remarkable occasion, Major General Michael G Samson, Commander of the 3rd Infantry Division strengthens Spearhead Divisionโs commitment to uphold peace and security through intensive collaboration and partnership to all units within its area of operations. To achieve this feat, he visited 6th Forward Service Support Unit, ASCOM, PA at Camp Delgado, Iloilo City on March 26, 2025.
His visit is highlighted by a unit briefing discussed by Ltc Rowel M Maala, Commanding Officer of 6FSSU, ASCOM, PA wherein enhancement of logistics operations, sustainment support, and other relevant matters that are essential in maintaining operational effectiveness are tackled. A significant discourse with Tagapatigayon Troopers was also held to remind them of their role in sustaining operational engagements of ground troops. During talk to troops, Major General Samson emphasized the notable contributions of 6FSSU and other logistics units in the attainment of the divisionโs mission. He also commended the troops for their unwavering dedication to duty by displaying professionalism and discipline in accomplishing their respective tasks and unit objectives.
The visit was culminated with the reaffirmation of both partiesโ dedication to promote security, stability, and progress through peacekeeping initiatives and significant collaborations for a long-term sustainment goal in fostering strong territorial defense strategies and sustain overall operational control.

โTaking a Breather: 6FSSU Female Soldiersโ Pampering Session and Skills Training during Womenโs Monthโ
Camp Martin Delgado, Iloilo City โ In honoring the display of hard work and invaluable contributions of women in uniform to our organization, 6FSSU held skills training and pampering session for our personnel as we solidify our commitment to recognize femalesโ vital roles in our society during the celebration of 2025 National Womenโs Month anchored in theme, โBabae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinasโ. The event was conducted on March 18 2025 at 6FSSU Conference Room, Camp Delgado, Iloilo City which was participated by available personnel and dependents of this unit.
In partnership with Local Government Unit of Iloilo City, 6FSSU highlighted the celebration of Women's Month by treating female soldiers and wives of 6FSSU male personnel to nail grooming, haircut, and massage services. Also, basic haircutting techniques were taught to participants of โBasic Haircut Training and Pampering Dayโ. This aims to promote inclusivity and empowerment in women through acquiring new skills and developing oneโs ability for self-sustainment. As 6FSSU female personnel had their break by pampering themselves with well-deserved treats, we are also reminded that as we rise above inequality and stereotypes, females can demonstrate excellence and achieve greater heights in their respective fields.
6FSSU remains steadfast in fostering a positive environment for women and advocating for gender equality to ensure that they are given equal opportunities to thrive in their personal and professional lives.
