Celebrating Women’s Month 2026 with Empowerment and Skills! 🌸

In honor of Women’s Month, the Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Their Children (LCAT-VAWC), together with the Iloilo City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), proudly hosted “SHE BUILDS: Women’s Skills and Financial Empowerment.”

This inspiring initiative aimed to uplift women by equipping them with practical skills and promoting financial independence through sustainable livelihood opportunities.

We sincerely thank all participants for their active engagement and energy! A special shoutout goes to our amazing resource persons from the Iloilo City GAD Office—Ms. Shirley Conte, Ms. Jeraldine Jacosalem, and Ms. Meily Papa—for generously imparting their knowledge in handicraft-making and inspiring us with the innovative “Trash to Cash” initiative. ♻️

Celebrating milestones, breaking barriers 💙

The Breaking Barriers for Young Adults with Disabilities – Training and Development Center (BBY-TDC) Recognition Program 2026, held last March 25, 2026 at the CSWDO Uswag Gym, was truly a meaningful and successful event.

Under the leadership of Center Head Marian C. Penit, RSW, the program honored the achievements, growth, and resilience of our Young Adults with Disabilities (YAWDs). The celebration was made even more special with the presence and unwavering support of proud parents, valued guests, and the dedicated BBY-TDC staff.

Together, we continue to uplift, empower, and inspire—proving that with support and opportunity, no barrier is too great to overcome. 🌟

Bringing services closer to the community 💙

The Protective Services Division (PSD), together with the Special Drug Education Program (SDEP), has officially started visiting barangays across Iloilo City to promote programs focused on awareness, prevention, and community empowerment.

The initiative officially kicked off on March 28, 2026, at Barangay Hibao-an Sur, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, under the leadership of Barangay Captain Hon. Rodlen G. Gallenero, marking the beginning of a series of community engagements across the city.

Through these visits, we aim to strengthen partnerships, educate communities, and create safer, healthier environments for everyone.

The Special Drug Education Program (SDEP), under the Protective Services Division (PSD), successfully conducted a seminar on Substance Abuse and Related Disorders raising awareness, strengthening prevention, and inspiring change in our community.
