𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐀 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐎𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐖

Demonstrating unity and environmental responsibility, personnel of the Iloilo City District Jail – Male Dormitory, together with JIP Trainees and JO1/T, actively participated in a 𝘾𝙤𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙣-𝙐𝙥 𝘼𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙮 held at Hinactacan Ecopark.

The activity was conducted with the purpose of promoting environmental awareness, protecting marine and coastal ecosystems, and encouraging the community to practice proper waste disposal and environmental stewardship. Through this initiative, participants worked hand in hand in collecting and properly disposing of waste materials scattered along the coastal area, helping restore the cleanliness and beauty of the shoreline.

Beyond maintaining the cleanliness of the environment, the coastal clean-up also served as a reminder that every individual has a vital role in preserving nature and protecting our natural resources for future generations. The activity strengthened camaraderie, teamwork, and the spirit of volunteerism among participants while fostering a deeper appreciation for the importance of a healthy and sustainable environment.

This meaningful endeavor reflects the continuing commitment of the Iloilo City District Jail – Male Dormitory and its partners in supporting environmental conservation efforts and inspiring others to become responsible stewards of the environment. Together, small actions can create a big impact toward building a cleaner, safer, and greener community.

In line with the commitment to environmental preservation and community development, personnel of the Iloilo City District Jail – Male Dormitory, together with JIP Trainees and JO1/T, actively participated in a 𝙏𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙮 held at Hinactacan Ecopark.

The activity aimed to promote environmental awareness, help restore and protect natural resources, and encourage everyone to take part in creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable community. Beyond planting trees, the initiative also strengthened camaraderie, teamwork, and the shared responsibility of caring for the environment for future generations.

Through simple yet meaningful actions like this, we continue to show that unity and cooperation can make a lasting impact on both the community and nature.

On May 15, 2026, under the leadership of 𝗝𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗧 𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗤 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗡, District Jail Warden and 𝗝𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞 𝗟𝗔𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗖 𝗔𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗘, Deputy Warden. The Pag-IBIG Fund Region VI Pag-IBIG Fund (HDMF) conducted a reorientation for all our dedicated personnel of Iloilo City District Jail – Male Dormitory (ICDJ-MD), and facilitated an enrollment for their Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card.

𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐋 𝐄𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐄𝐇𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍!

A successful legal aid and outreach initiative was conducted at the Iloilo City District Jail - Male Dormitory (ICDJ-MD) by the Central Philippine University (CPU) College of Law - Clinical Legal Education Program. During this event, essential legal seminars and guidance were provided to 30 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).

Such programs are highly valued as they reinforce the commitment to ensuring that individuals in custody remain well-informed of their legal rights and the judicial processes affecting their cases. Special commendation is extended to the dedicated team from the CPU College of Law for the time and expertise shared during the session. The efforts of law students Jhea Mae Gaco, Jose Edu Bonto, and Dynli Charm Potato were instrumental, with professional supervision provided by Atty. Gabrielle Hermie Castrojas and administrative support from CPU College of Law staff member Melody Herminanda.

Collaborations of this nature are vital to the mission of holistic rehabilitation and justice within the facility. Gratitude is expressed to the CPU College of Law for being a steadfast partner in service, and future initiatives that empower the PDL community and contribute to a more informed society are eagerly anticipated.

Following the successful “Read-a-Book” activity, the Iloilo City District Jail – Male Dormitory (ICDJ-MD), under the steadfast leadership of 𝗝𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗧 𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗤. 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗡, District Jail Warden, and 𝗝𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞 𝗟𝗔𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗖. 𝗔𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗘, Deputy Warden, successfully conducted a hearty 𝙁𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 for twenty (20) children of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) during their scheduled visitation.

The activity was spearheaded by CRS Officers JO1 Luelle Grace J. Pañer and JO1 Laysa L. Falsis and other admin personnel, together with eight (8) JIP Trainees, who wholeheartedly shared their time and efforts to provide nourishment and joy to the participating children.

More than simply serving meals, the Feeding Program aimed to promote care, compassion, and a sense of community among the children and their families. Through this initiative, ICDJ-MD continues to uphold its commitment to supporting not only the welfare and rehabilitation of PDLs, but also the well-being of their loved ones, especially the children who remain a source of hope and inspiration.

Acts of kindness, no matter how simple, can leave a lasting impact and remind every child that they are valued, remembered, and cared for.

Four (4) dedicated personnel of the Iloilo City District Jail – Male Dormitory (ICDJ-MD), under the strong leadership of 𝗝𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗧 𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗤 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗡, District Jail Warden, and 𝗝𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞 𝗟𝗔𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗖 𝗔𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗘, Deputy Warden, actively participated in the 𝙏𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝘿𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙋𝙞𝙡𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚 conducted by BJMP Regional Office VI under the firm guidance of 𝗝𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗧 𝗝𝗛𝗢𝗡 𝗗. 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗢, Regional Director.

The two-day training activity was held at Iloilo District Jail – Male Dormitory, Nanga, Pototan, and aimed to enhance the operational capabilities and technical proficiency of personnel in the field of tactical drone operations, strengthening security and surveillance initiatives within the Bureau.

Representing ICDJ-MD in this significant undertaking were three (3) STAR Team members:

The Iloilo City District Jail – Male Dormitory (ICDJ-MD), under the steadfast leadership of 𝗝𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗧 𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗤 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗡, District Jail Warden, and 𝗝𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞 𝗟𝗔𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗖 𝗔𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗘, Deputy Warden, successfully coordinated with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Iloilo City Office for the conduct of an 𝙊𝙣-𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙋𝘿𝙇 𝙑𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙧’𝙨 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 Activity.

Through the dedicated efforts and coordination of 𝗝𝗢𝟭 𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗡 𝗗. 𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗢, Operations Officer, the activity was successfully facilitated inside the facility, allowing Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) to exercise their constitutional right to suffrage.

As a result of this initiative, a total of One Hundred Seventeen (117) PDLs were successfully registered as voters, reflecting the commitment of ICDJ-MD and COMELEC in promoting inclusive democratic participation and ensuring that every qualified individual is given the opportunity to take part in the electoral process.

This collaborative effort highlights the importance of upholding the civil and political rights of PDLs while fostering responsible citizenship, social inclusion, and rehabilitation within the jail community.

Indeed, empowering PDLs through civic engagement is another meaningful step toward restoring dignity, strengthening democracy, and building a more inclusive society.
