𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝟑𝟒𝟒.𝟐𝐌 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐨𝐯’𝐭 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐨 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲𝐬

Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. has officially accepted today a check worth P344.2 million, on behalf of the province of Iloilo. This substantial funding is part of the "Bawat Barangay Makikinabang" Program of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. through the Socio-Civil Projects Fund (SCPF).

The distribution was held today during the Liga ng mga Barangay 2026 National Congress at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.

The amount will be equally distributed to the 1,721 barangays in the province, each receiving P200,000.

Half of the grant will fund scholarship grants benefiting five senior or graduating college students per barangay. The remaining P100,000 will be channeled for grassroots developmental projects.

Joining the governor in receiving the check are League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Iloilo Chapter President Mayor Suzette Mamon, Liga ng mga Barangay Iloilo Provincial Federation President Amalia Debuque, Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Dennis Ventilacion, Provincial Treasurer Jean Maire Umadhay, and Head Executive Assistant to the Governor Atty. Von Superio.
