APPROVED CANCELLATION OF CLASSES FROM PRESCHOOL TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL AND CANCELLATION OF FLAG CEREMONY FOR CITY HALL EMPLOYEES

Based on available data and observation, the presence of TY Goring and the enhancement of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) across Western Visayas, Iloilo City will continue to experience occasional moderate to heavy rains and cloudy skies with 100% cloud cover, with an expected 10-25 mm rainfall accumulation and is even possible to reach above 25 mm. The enhanced Southwest Monsoon will continue to bring gusty conditions and a Gale Warning is in effect along the seaboards of Visayas.

Given the forecast, it is expected that flooding will persist in high-risk areas.

Therefore, to ensure the safety and general welfare of the children and the residents of the city, we hereby recommend to the Chair of the CDRRMC, Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, the suspension of face-to-face classes from preschool to senior high school in both public and private schools in the City of Iloilo, tomorrow, August 29, 2023. Suspension of classes for the college level is left to the discretion of the school administrators.

The Iloilo City Operations Center also recommends the cancellation of the flag-raising ceremony for the City Hall employees due to the above mentioned reasons.

AN EXECUTIVE ORDER DECLARING THE SUSPENSION OF CLASSES (FACE TO FACE AND ONLINE) ON ALL LEVELS BOTH IN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN ILOILO CITY ON JANUARY 21, 2023 AND JANUARY 23, 2022 IN VIEW OF THE 2023 DINAGYANG CELEBRATION

𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧📣 | 𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗙𝗘𝗪 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗦 𝟭𝟬:𝟬𝟬𝗣𝗠 𝗧𝗢 𝟰:𝟬𝟬𝗔𝗠.

The Iloilo City Government, together with the WCPDO, the City Social Welfare and Development Office, the Iloilo City Council for the Protection of Children, and the Task Forces involved, are informing the public about the strict implementation of a curfew for minors in the entire Iloilo City.

CURFEW will be implemented in the seven (7) districts, especially in the public markets, plazas, internet shops and cafés, bars, and streets, and in identified areas where minors are dwelling even during curfew hours.

Urging all barangay captains to direct their barangay kagawads and tanods to do roving and monitoring during curfew hours To all parents: make sure that your children are in their respective houses during curfew hours.

"Iloilo City promotes child welfare, which encapsulates the notion of keeping children safe from physical and mental violence. Regulation Ordinance 2022-279 on "Curfew for Minors". By enforcing minors to be home early, we can ensure their safety."
