I would like to categorically deny the false statements circulating online regarding an alleged comment I made about the arrest of Former President Rodrigo Duterte. I have never issued any statement related to this matter, and the content being shared is purely fabricated.

Misinformation and fake news not only harm individuals but also sow division. I urge the public especially the Ilonggos to be vigilant and discerning, relying only on credible and verified sources for accurate information.

Let us help combat disinformation.

The use of social media is rampant nowadays; no matter where we are and what we do, we always find ways to keep up with the latest updates and happenings.
Being social media savvy, people believe in what they can see and read on their news feeds. To match the pace of today’s generation, Mayor Jerry Treñas, assembled a meeting with all the social media managers from every department/office to seek their assistance in disseminating various information to reach a broad range of spectrum.
It is also to show support, boost, and promote interaction with the respective pages of every department/office. As well as to give a glimpse of the daily tasks and activities of employees in every division.

𝘐𝘭𝘰𝘪𝘭𝘰 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 - Mayor Jerry P. Treñas gathered the Social Media Managers from various departments under the Iloilo City Government for a meeting focused on adopting modern communication methods to enhance governance. Emphasizing the importance of adapting to the changing times, the Mayor highlighted the dominant influence of social media in today's society, prompting government officials to harness its potential for effective communication and citizen engagement.

Mayor Treñas acknowledged that people now constantly rely on their social media accounts for information. To ensure effective communication, he urged the managers to proactively provide timely and accurate updates on government initiatives, events, and news. Understanding social media insights was also stressed to tailor content and strategies according to citizens' preferences and concerns.

The Mayor emphasized the value of maintaining an active and responsive online presence. He urged managers to promptly address queries, complaints, and suggestions from citizens, fostering trust and transparency. Staying updated on emerging trends and best practices in social media was encouraged to maximize its potential for promoting good governance and citizen participation.

Mayor Treñas' meeting reflects the Iloilo City Government's commitment to utilizing technology to better serve citizens. By embracing social media as a powerful tool, the government aims to strengthen communication channels, bridge the gap between administration and the public, and ensure transparent governance for Iloilo City.

DANCE FOR MENTAL HEALTH!

As part of the GINHAWA 2.0 Program, weekly activities in the city’s well-known open spaces, where family and friends can go and have fun together or even when alone, can be a spot for me time.

The Iloilo City Social Welfare and Development Office will host "Ballroom Dancing" on May 26, 2023, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
