Please be informed that the Office of the Building Official will conduct system maintenance today, May 14, 2026, starting at 3:00 PM. Accordingly, permit applications with complete basic documentary requirements will be officially received on Monday.
Further, the Office implements a Work-From-Home (WFH) arrangement every Friday. Clients may still send inquiries regarding permit applications, technical conferences, and other concerns through our online platforms, including our website and Google Forms.

In relation to recent media statements regarding the processing of the building permit application for the 66.5 MLD Seawater Reverse Osmosis Iloilo Desalination Facility of Metro Pacific Iloilo Desalination Corporation located in Brgy. Ingore, La Paz, Iloilo City, the Office of the Building Official (OBO) issues this clarification to ensure accuracy of public information.
It is important to emphasize that the Officeβs processing timeline is based on the receipt of COMPLETE AND COMPLIANT REQUIREMENTS. Any delays arising from the handling or retention of documents by the applicantβs authorized processor fall outside the control of this Office and are not included in the official computation of processing time.
This Office remains committed to transparency, regulatory compliance, and the highest standards of public safety in all its processes.

From Coordination to Action
Following the expressed support of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) β Iloilo Chapter for Oplan: Kontra Baha, the Office of the Building Official (OBO), in coordination with the Iloilo City Local Housing Office (ICLHO), the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources Officer (OCENRO), the Facility Conservation Office (FCO), and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), has commenced dredging operations at Rizal Creek.
Personnel and equipment were deployed early this morning to begin clearing activities aimed at improving water flow and reducing flooding risks.
The OBO continues to work closely with partner agencies to ensure safe, efficient, and coordinated flood mitigation efforts in the city.

Please be advised that Iloilo City Hall will be closed on April 9, 2026, in observance of the Day of Valor (Araw ng Kagitingan), a regular holiday, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1006, s. 2025.
Further, the Iloilo City Government maintains its Friday work arrangement through a work-from-home (WFH) scheme, community engagement, or fieldwork.

In observance of the Lenten season, please be advised that work in Iloilo City Government is suspended from 12 NN onwards, April 1, 2026, following Memorandum Circular No. 116 of the Office of the President dated March 31, 2026.
Moreover, City Hall will be closed on April 2-3, 2026 (Thursday and Friday), which are regular holidays throughout the country.
