Iloilo Province commenced the celebration of Social Welfare Week 2024 with a resounding achievement, as the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO Province Of Iloilo), under Acting Provincial Government Department Head (PGDH) Mr. Rani Melvi A. Cuarte, received four prestigious awards from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for CY 2023.

The highlight of the awards is the “National Paglaray: Most Active PSWDO” Award, conferred at the national level on November 22, 2024.

The recognition acknowledges PSWDO Iloilo’s exceptional performance in engaging City and Municipal Social Welfare Officers, delivering Technical Assistance and Resource Augmentation (TARA) functions, and ensuring full compliance of local government units (LGUs) with Social Welfare and Development (SWD) Laws Monitoring.

Among 11 provincial LGUs assessed nationwide, only PSWDO Iloilo and Laguna advanced to the final assessment.

In addition, DSWD Field Office VI recognized PSWDO Iloilo with the "Gawad Serbisyong Mapagkalinga" award for achieving LEVEL 3 functionality in the implementation of social protection policies and programs.

This award underscores the office’s alignment with the standards set forth in DSWD Memorandum Circular No. 18, series of 2023, which ensures the effective delivery of welfare services.

On the regional stage, PSWDO Iloilo further solidified its standing by receiving two additional honors under the DSWD Paglaray Regional Awards.

The Regional PAGLARAY Most Active PSWDO Award recognized the office's exemplary efforts during the conduct of Social Welfare and Development Laws monitoring.

Meanwhile, the PAGLARAY Most Comprehensive Report Regional Award acknowledged the PSWDO’s thorough analysis of SWD Laws, including its detailed examination of local issuances, identification of issues and gaps, and the formulation of actionable recommendations.

These awards were celebrated as Iloilo Province officially launched Social Welfare Week 2024, themed “Manggagawa Para sa Kapakanang Panlipunan sa Bagong Pilipinas.”
The Iloilo Provincial Government lauded these achievements as milestones that affirm its vision of delivering impactful and sustainable social services.

Through these recognitions, PSWDO Iloilo continues to serve as a model for other local government units, inspiring excellence in the field of social welfare.
