20 inspiring women from different associations took a step closer to making their products stand out in the market.

On August 13, 2023, NC New Lucena and NC Leganes, through Business Counselors Ms. Joella Opina and Ms. Daniellee Hortillas, conducted a Packaging and Labelling Seminar for 6 remarkable different women associations.

Participants learned the importance of good packaging in attracting customers, how to create eye-catching labels, and tips on building a strong brand identity. 💡

After the seminar, they immediately applied their learnings—packing their products and finalizing their logos and labels with the guidance of the business counselors. 🎯

This initiative was made possible through the collaboration of the Municipal Tourism Office, IPAD SIAD (Sea Inc.) and NC New Lucena, working together to uplift and empower local entrepreneurs. 🌸💼

We’re looking for festival practitioners across ASEAN to join a 4-week immersive training designed to boost skills in audience development, business models, marketing, sustainability, leadership, and digital innovation.
This programme, delivered by Edinburgh Napier University and Jogja Festivals, brings together experts from the UK and Southeast Asia to support the growth of festivals in the region.
Who can apply? Festival directors, promoters, creative producers, curators, and policymakers with at least 3–5 years of festival experience. We especially welcome applications from women, gender minorities, disabled people, and underrepresented groups.
This programme is part of the ASEAN-UK Advancing Creative Economy programme, co-funded by UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office and British Council, and in partnership with ASEAN Secretariat.

🍄 Elena’s Mushroom Farm: Growing Dreams in Brgy. Badiang, New Lucena 🌱

What started as a simple idea from a YouTube video turned into a thriving backyard business for Elena Mijares, 52, a dedicated housewife and mother of three. With the support of her husband Rodolfo, 62, a retired seafarer, they began growing oyster mushrooms right at home.

It wasn’t easy—they learned everything through trial and error. But with hard work and teamwork, they now harvest fresh mushrooms every day, producing 40–50 kilos each month for their community.

Elena’s Mushroom Farm is proof that big things can grow from small spaces—and that it’s never too late to start something new. 💪❤️
