For the third consecutive time, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has conferred to the Municipality of Anilao its most prestigious award for local government units - the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Award. Anilao LGU has kept up with the SGLG's increasing bar of performance metrics, and delivered exemplary public service. Only 380 LGUs, or 22%, passed the more stringent all-in assessment requirement this year.

Each awardee received an SGLG marker and the Performance Challenge Fund in the amount of 2.3 Million Pesos (for municipalities).

The 2019 SGLG National Awarding Ceremony was held on November 5 at the Fiesta Pavillion, The Manila Hotel.

THREE FOR THREE! Anilao is once again a Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Awardee. This is the third consecutive SGLG Award of the municipality of Anilao (2017, 2018, and 2019). We are one of the only three LGUs in the Province of Iloilo given this distinction by the Department of Interior Local Government (DILG) for this year. I share this praise with my LGU family, barangay officials, MLGOOs, partner agencies (PNP, BFP, DepEd), and NGOs in Anilao. I am grateful for your hard work and cooperation. Thank you, Lord, for your guidance and blessings. With your divine providence, my first three years in office bears the seal of good local governance. To my fellow Anilaonons, I offer this award to you. PANGIBABAW ANILAO!

We are to always respect our elders whether or not if it’s our parents. One day you will grow up and be respected by younger people just like them. Take the time to listen to their experiences and wisdom to grow in knowledge.

If you take the time to listen to them you will see that many elderly people are humorous, informative, and exciting.

Never forget to take care of your elders helping them with what they need and always be gentle showing loving kindness.

Notice of Call for CSO Accreditation

The Sangguniang Bayan of Anilao in its aim to enhance the legislative capacity of its members, conducted a Local Legislation Seminar for Newly-Elected Sangguniang Bayan Officials and Staff.

The activity was held last August 15-16, 2019 at Seda Atria Hotel, Mandurriao, Iloilo City participated in by the Municipal Vice Mayor, 10 members of the Sangguniang Bayan and sanggunian staff and facilitated by our MLGOO Mam Marlyn Gayadao. With Asst. RD Mariz Jauculan Sardua of DILG Region 6 and Atty. Raul S. Tiosayco, Jr., Sec. to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan as Resource Speakers.

Finally done with SGLG 2019 National Validation!

Thank you to my fellow municipal officials, Anilao LGU department heads and employees, our stakeholders, and our partner agencies for the hard work, cooperation and support during this validation process. Results will be announced later this year. For the meantime, here are some snapshots of the light and intense moments during the national validation earlier.

Note: The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) symbolizes integrity and good performance of local governments. It covers all Provinces, cities, and Municipalities across the country. SGLG 2019 will still require LGUs to pass all seven governance areas namely: Financial Administration; Disaster Preparedness; Social Protection; Peace and Order; Business Friendliness and Competitiveness; Environmental Protection; and Tourism Culture and the Arts.
