Local leaders, climate experts, and students are currently gathered for "Beyond the Heat: Young Minds for Climate Action," a collaborative event organized by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), the City of Iloilo, and Central Philippine University (CPU) held at Rose Memorial Auditorium, Central Philippine University.

SYNOPSIS: Southwest Monsoon affecting Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and the western section of Southern Luzon.
FORECAST:
Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands will experience occasional rains due to the Southwest Monsoon.
The Visayas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms.
Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands will have Moderate to Strong winds from Southwest with Moderate to Rough seas.
The whole Visayas will experience light to moderate winds from the Southeast to South with slight to moderate seas.

Members of Regional and Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (R/LDRRMCs) successfully completed the Incident Command System Position Course (ICSPC) Training held on May 25โ€“29, 2026, at Citadines Hotel, Iloilo City.

A total of 32 participants graduated from the training, which focused on enhancing participantsโ€™ competencies in performing specific Incident Command System positions and responsibilities during emergency and disaster operations.

SYNOPSIS: At 3:00 AM today, the center of the eye of Typhoon "DOMENG" {JANGMI} was estimated based on all available data at 650 km East Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes (23.7N 127.3E) with maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 160 km/h. It is moving North Northwestward at 15 km/h. Southwest Monsoon affecting Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and the western section of Visayas.

FORECAST:
Western Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon.
The rest of Visayas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms.
The Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands will experience light to moderate winds from the Southwest with slight to moderate seas.
The whole Visayas will experience light to moderate winds from the South to Southwest with slight to moderate seas.

The Office of Civil Defense Region VI, in partnership with the Iloilo City DRRM Office and Central Philippine University, will hold the Climate Forum with the Academe: โ€œBeyond the Heat: Young Minds for Climate Actionโ€ on June 3, 2026 at Rose Memorial Auditorium, CPU, Iloilo City.

The activity highlights the important role of the youth and academe in promoting resilience, sustainability, and collective action toward a safer and greener Region VI. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’š
