Iloilo City continues to lead the way in sustainable urban governance ♻️
Through an inclusive, innovative, and community-driven waste management framework, the city is making real progress toward long-term resilience. By embracing a circular economy approach, Iloilo has achieved a 48% increase in recyclable recovery and expanded organic waste composting over the past three years—diverting significant waste from landfills.
This success is powered by strong partnerships with waste consolidators, environmental groups, academic institutions, and our formalized waste pickers’ association—creating both environmental impact and economic opportunities.
